  1. Any takers? Still got teams left.
  2. I liked Castro until I found out he was going to hit 22 HR with the White Sox. Yeah, but then he'll sabotage the Cardinals by hitting .201 with just 14 walks for the Cardinals in 2027. So you can like him again.
  3. Yep, 1988 to the Falcons. I had no idea.
  4. I know it's nitpicking, but I saw 4.51 and 4.53 for Von today on an A&M site. Where did you see 4.49? And I'm obviously biased, but the only surprise concerning Von for me on draft day is if he falls below #5. I don't expect it, but #1 wouldn't shock me. The National Football Post reported it. Despite my thinking he and Peterson are the best prospects in the draft, I'd be surprised if either is taken #1. Has there ever been a linebacker selected first overall? It seems to be reserved largely for QBs, RBs and OTs (with the occassional DT/DE thrown in).
  5. Von Miller ran a 4.49 40 today. Am I crazy for thinking he and Patrick Peterson might be the best prospects in the draft?
  6. Yeah, Warp normally takes the Dolphins but he hasn't said anything. I guess we can start doubling up now since nobody else seems to be showing interest in taking the remaining teams.
  7. Whoever drafts Mallett better have a superb offensive line because Mallett isn't moving much back there. At this point, the only first round QBs I have any interest in are Newton and Gabbert. And even then, there are probably too many questions with both to be convinced you should pay them what a top 3-5 pick will warrant (even with a rookie cap).
  8. Just so we can get this going relatively quickly tomorrow, everybody who's interested in doubling up go ahead and give a team you'd have a preference for so that we don't have to go through that process tomorrow. I still want to give a little more time before doubling up on this many teams, though. So far I have Tree adding the Browns and Splendid Splinter and jame.gumb interested in somebody. I'll take the Broncos if/when we start doubling up.
  9. You can have the Browns when (if?) we start doubling up. I'll probably give it until tomorrow afternoon or so to give stragglers a little extra time and then we can spend some time doubling up. I know we have fans of the Broncos, Steelers and Dolphins on here and gooney usually takes one (or both) of the New York teams. I haven't seen gooney in a while, though, and Warp, AI and Mark Prior's Calves haven't volunteered yet.
  10. Even if the Cubs keep payroll in the area of $130 million average over the next 10 years, that would give them $100 million to spend on the rest of their roster, while getting historic production from one position for at least half that period. Add in that the Cubs have a ton of potential cheap production depth in the minors (while likely few, if any, stars) and we're one of the few teams that wouldn't be handcuffed that much by a 10/300 contract. The Cubs are in as perfect a position as you can get to spend on Pujols - and if he's available, they should do it.
  11. Fielder will be 28 when he signs his new deal - and there's plenty of reason to believe he'll be looking in the 8/20-25 range himself. So if you go with Fielder, you'll likely be paying a 36 year old $25 million at the end of his deal instead of paying a 40 year old $30 million. WAR: Pujols: 8.0 career average/8.4 past 3 years Prince: 3.3 career average/4.5 past 3 years That's a quick way to look at it, but Pujols is pretty significantly better and should age much better than Fielder. I'm not against a big contract to Prince - especially if he can keep his weight down - but if given the choice of Prince getting $25 mil at 36 or Pujols getting $30 mil til he's 40, I'll take the much better player.
  12. The Raiders are the easiest team to draft for anyway, especially this year. No first round and pretty much a certainty it'll be either Buster Skrine or DeMarcus Van [expletive] in the second round. EDIT: Haha, Dy ke is censored.
  13. I know jame.gumb is a fan, but I haven't heard from him yet. You can have them if you want. EDIT: And then I see jame's post. You're both assigned to the 9ers. And CCP and Exile have the Colts as well.
  14. I agree. Stealing bases in and of itself is not a bad thing - doing it inefficiently is. However, the mentions of doing it "intelligently" and shooting for a 75 percent success rate are very encouraging that they're not going to have guys on the run all the time. If they're smart with it, this can be a positive.
  15. I don't believe we have one, unless I'm forgetting somebody. You've got them. And IMB, you have the Saints.
  16. Of the teams still available in the top 10, I don't recall us having Redskins or Cardinals fans on the board.
  17. Keep in mind, mhuber can still join the war room.
  18. If possible, I'd prefer to have a different person lead the way on each team. However, you can be on as many war rooms as you'd like - just make sure you're available each time one of the teams come up. If we can't fill all the teams with different people, then we'll open it up to people doubling up. I'll probably give it til at least Wednesday, if not later, to try to get as many as possible involved, though.
  19. Volunteer in the mock draft thread so I don't miss it. And are you serious sulley? Or just giving mhuber crap?
  20. Gotcha rocket and Snayke. And I'm planning to keep the sign-ups open probably til Wednesday or so. That gives three full days (or four if we don't start til Thursday) for people to get online, see the thread and volunteer. That also gives us right around a month and a half to get the draft done - should be plenty of time.
  21. Gotcha hawkeye, Flames and Raisin.
