I'm probably as big a Kaepernick fan as there is out there, but 15 would be way, way too high for a guy who probably won't be ready to start for, at best, 2 seasons. A ton of upside, but way too raw to even consider before the early portion of the second round. It's funny you say this, because I see him being viable as a starter before Cam Newton easily, yet people are fine with him being as high as #1. There aren't many question marks surrounding Kaepernick outside of level of competition that aren't shared by Newton. I'm not necessarily in favor of Newton at 1, though I don't think it'd be a terrible pick for a team. It's not a great pick for the Panthers, however. That said, my concern with Kaep is that he's so much more raw at pretty much everything. While raw, Newton is a much more polished QB than Kaep and has faced better competition. From everything I've seen and read, Newton is also much more comfortable at this point taking snaps from under center than Kaep. I've heard Kaep is having some issues with it. It'd be a good idea to sit either QB for a couple of years upon drafting them, but I think Newton would be much better early if pressed into playing than Kaep.
