  1. Maybe they shouldn't. Just playing devil's advocate here -- if Angelo sucks at OLine eval, then having him pick a bunch of OLine guys might be playing to his weakness, which would equal more busts. I think Angelo needs an offensive talent eval guy to feed him the right picks on the offensive side of the ball. Call him the GM version of Martz, to Angelo's Lovie. They overhauled their scouting dept after last year. I wouldn't let previous failure dictate them from improving their greatest need.
  2. Based on round and projected position, Williams is a bust. He just doesn't project as highly as where they drafted him. They need to draft O-line early and often. The difference between an early rd WR next year and what they have now in a Martz offense isn't as important as improving the line.
  3. They deserve all the credit in the world for that. They were outstanding and the best defense they've played all year.
  4. You don't think GB would have played their defense differently if Bennett had been in there instead of Davis? No, they wouldve given Bennett the underneath routes all day like they did Davis.
  5. Bennett was out with an ankle and Davis became the possession WR rather than just giving up. Would Bennett have played had it been a must-win? Possibly, but it wouldn't have changed the results.
  6. Rumors have Caple being out in Oakland. Which would be a mistake.
  7. From what I've seen everything as far as accuracy, pro offense systems, and understanding defense are both off the charts but Luck has more arm strength than P Manning, basically putting Leaf's arm strength into Manning's body.
  8. Trading away Luck with the Golden boy and Moore as the option doesn't make sense regardless of their holes. Luck is better than either Manning, when they were coming out of college. Better than Ryan, Rivers, etc
  9. Ill be rooting for Philly and Sea. this weekend. 2 very good games this weekend and 2 duds.
  10. I'm sure they would like to but Car would be stupid to do so. Harbaugh and Luck would viagra that franchise.
  11. He would have a 30 year run in Ann Arbor if he wanted, but he's a NFL guy. I see him going to SF and if it doesn't work going back to college ala Spurrier, Davis, Kiffin and Saban.
  12. Let the Jim Harbaugh courting begin. Carolina, Den, SF, Clev. Cincy Ten I don't see NY Oak or Jax changing I see him in SF with control. Denver will not give their next coach total control.
  13. How many times did they fail to stop a 4 man rush? Seemed like just about every sack was a blitz...they blitzed a ton. They gave up a sack on a 3 man rush to Matthews. Walden had a career day on the right side.
  14. There were some encouraging signs. GB can't run the ball on anyone so giving them more than modest credit would be fake praise. The pass coverage was outstanding and the pass rush was suffice. Offensively, they ran the ball well but between Cutler's poor decision espec. In the redzone again and the terrible performance by the oline. The bigger concern was their inability to stop a standard 4 man rush.
  15. You're simply overlooking how the strength of the Saints offense matches up perfectly with the weakness of the Bears defense, especially with the lack of pass rush these last few weeks.
  16. That doesn't make any sense. Sure it does, NO's passing game is more critical to the Bears than HFA and the possibility of bad weather. That short passing game will exploit the Bears weaknesses more than the standard 5 step drop of ATL. Atl will try and get Turner going and then go vertical with Jenkins/White, the one concern would be Gonzalez. The Saints will carbon copy NE and unlike ATL have the ability to rack up points like that regardless of location/atmosphere.
  17. I still think it is a better matchup for the Bears in Atl than NO even in Chicago.
  18. If I'm the Bears, I'd do everything I could to keep GB out of the playoffs. Its a bad matchup for them with their passing attack. In terms of teams that present the most problems for the Bears: NO ATL GB PHI NYG TB Stl/Sea That would be how I'd rank the teams
  19. Other than the Pierre trade, name the prospects you are sorry he traded away. I wish Wills wasn't included among the list of names to get Alfonseca and Clement. The 03 rotation for one year would be up there with the best of all-time with Willis instead of Estes. Wish they wouldve grabbed Guzman instead.
  20. It is disappointing you're only a lurker.
  21. Every team has to rely on their closer, MIL isn't any different Loe was solid not spectacular and Braddock fills the role of the 7th inning despite being better suited as a situational lefty on better staffs. I like Mark Rogers, always liked his arm and maybe he can fill a role like that as a minor league starter turned reliever. This is where the loss of Jeffers hurts, he reminds me of Tom Gordon with that curve. Overall, below avg. But not bad enough to keep them from being competitive.
  22. Bad announcers with Chris Harris love.
  23. Pull Cutler, Hester, and keep Taylor out there. Bench Peppers, Tillman, and either Briggs or Urlacher on defense.
  24. I hate the Bears inability to adjust how deep the safeties are playing with crap field conditions again. Their inability to pressure the QB causes the bend but don't break defense to break.
  25. Not stopping the pass made it a little less obvious they couldn't stop the run.
