  1. Never heard of him, but the fact that he's 25 and a former top 100 (#100 in 2011, #99 in 2012) certainly makes him too Theo bait. Joliet Catholic grad Based on his play, I doubt Benson would be a Theo type of guy.
  2. Yeah, I published (open it to the public) the League. Still 3 short from 10, I'd settle for 8 teams though.
  3. I say we wait until the last minute and then if we are still short we throw in the towel. So if anyone wants to join, there are 3 spots available as the draft is tonight at 7;30 pm cst.
  4. I lowered the pick 6 to match the same as a pass td.
  5. The Mets handled him properly, just flukish and how unnatural pitching is.
  6. I just wanted to mix it up. Ive never seen scoring like this. If you question the values of the point system, let me know. I want to keep the premise similar.
  7. Also, let me know what you think of the scoring system and how you might want that changed?
  8. I postponed it until a week from tomorrow (Tues. Sept. 3rd) at 7:30 CST.
  9. Trying my best, I will see if I can postpone the draft for another week, if everyone approves it.
  10. The League wants to crack down on all of the head injuries by being overreactive, they need to also eliminate this... http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/kevin-williams-upset-getting-injured-cheap-shot-against-161555512.html
  11. Yeah, Collins has looked good too in place of Melton. Turning into a solid 3-man rotation. Throw in Wootton, who has had a strong camp. McClellin, who made some plays vs. SD. And obviously, Peppers, who can do whatever he wants on a football field, and this can be a really strong group up front. I was pretty worried about this group without Idonije's versatility, especially if Paea and McClellin don't take a huge step forward....but now I'm a little more at ease. Overall, been the best unit in the entire preseason. Oh and James Anderson is really a good pass defender. I think he'll be a huge upgrade over Roach in that area. Not a great run defender, though. This is ironic given that I thought the signing of Ellis was the best move (value-wise) the Bears made and him retiring really hurt. Given Melton, it could still do so though.
  12. Paea had the best game on defense of anyone, he looks completely different to me, maybe he's finally 100% healthy. Assuming Melton comes back healthy, if they play well it's going to help Bostic greatly. Urlacher was at his best when Washington and Traylor were clogging the middle. Peppers is drawing double teams almost every time & assuming Melton might do the same as far as a chip block from a G, it'll free up Wooten and Paea to single blocking and lessen the change for the G to get the 2nd level to Bostic in the middle.
  13. Still need several more as I will wait till tomorrow morning and open it to the public (as the draft is scheduled for monday evening).
  14. Ever scout Illinois Wesleyan? We had a few guys drafted in my time there (Cory Lapinski, Drew Himes, maybe 1 other?). Our best player, Steve Schilsky, dropped in the draft big time after breaking his leg Junior year. Worst injury I've ever seen live. Too bad you just missed scouting me at Naperville Central too ;) And too bad both schools won National & State Titles after I graduated... :good: :x I went down to IWU about once a year, knock out Bradley, Heartland ISU, IWU usually over a weekend. I havent spoken to Martel in a few years Ive seen plenty of NC games. I only spoke to Lawler a couple of times. Been very close to the Kaminskas. Kyle was drafted by Flor in the early 20s.
  15. I also seen Jordan Zimmerman at UWSP. But only a couple of times.
  16. Who, the Naperville guy? Yeah. Ive seen Ian since 06. NV has been pretty good over the last ten years. Hes matured since HS.
  17. Weird seeing players I've scouted when they were 15.
  18. Thats not surprising, I dont think it gives us a clearer picture of their financial state. Just a wise baseball move. It would be idiotic to trade Castro at this stage.
  19. I think you guys are on the same page.
  20. I can't see a team giving him a 6/96 deal.
  21. Why wouldn't they? Teams are flush with cash right now. And the FA classes are getting weaker and weaker. I think he'll get that type of contract. Maybe even more if teams with protected picks are buying. But you still go after him in hopes of teams being scared of him considerable time over the last 4 seasons, I don't see him getting that type of deal. At most, a team might sneak into the Michael Bourn type of contract of 4/48.
  22. Definitely waiting for them to make that transition from team building up from within to team going outside the organization to accompany likely pieces from within. Last year would've been premature to spend more than they had to (beyond Jackson). So with expiring contracts, trades, etc. I'm hoping they can get a player in their prime at market value. I would love Ellsbury and cross that bridge happily if there are too few starter roles for far too productive players to not start.
  23. He's definitely reading plays too slow and not reacting.
  24. Just came up with it today, just a one year type of league, nothing difficult. http://y.ahoo.it/FEsoQnXM 1st come, 1st serve.
