  1. I can't step away for a second. Am I wrong, or is that a lot for Granderson? No, I think that's pretty fair. before last year he had 84 HR in 2 seasons; it seems low to me and i'd really have loved to have him on those terms I like it too, he's avg. in CF and been healthy minus fluke injuries, his value drop will come from not playing CF with the Mets compared to the Cubs. When all is said and done, I think he'll end up worth that contract.
  2. I'm upset about the Cubs not going after K. Johnson for what the Yankees got him at. I don't know why I care as much as I do with the Cubs offseason while they stop-gap the remainder of the 25 man roster. Yet when Tanaka goes elsewhere, I'll be upset again.
  3. 4-9 record all 4 wins Ive led the league in points, still second overall points, tryin to lead league in points and finish last
  4. If USC doesnt hire Orgeron as HC, how high is his stock now?
  5. It is declining though at a decent clip and likely to creep into the 30K per game range (paid admission), though. More importantly, viewership has fallen off the map. If you go from 40K to 32K in 5 years, there's an attendance problem and Boras is right as far as them spending more to help the improve the team on the field more so than stadium renovations. Ricketts is making every Cubs fan pay for his crappy deal by having to endure a poorly constructed team with below avg. talent and bloated contracts while they slowly lose those contracts but not add much talent in the process on a lackluster team. Leaving the Cubs with similar lack of talent just less payroll to do so. It's great that they have a plan of building from within but not addressing the current 25 man roster is going to stunt that development, you can sign quality players without have to give up picks...
  6. He's right about the Cubs, people in Tampa won't see the Rays regardless of the stadium though. It might help the Rays' attendance short-term but it won't in the long-term.
  7. League leader has 384 points and has a 9-1 record. I'm 2nd in points with 366 and have the second worst record at 3-7. Thankfully, its not a money league and why I seldom gamble.
  8. If it wasn't so early, this would be the best day of basketball this year. I doubt we'll see this with the FF.
  9. If Illinois cans Beckman like they should, Richt should be on speed-dial. I'd also consider Tressel, Petrino, and Franklin (Vandy).
  10. It proves he's an above avg. backup QB in a system that is perfect for him.
  11. It's closer and closer to rebuilding at the NFL level. Half the roster is gone next year, Trestman came one year too late. Trestman had his worst game of the year both in lineup and play calling decisions, there's no guarantee McCown wins the game but I think he puts them in a better position. The Bears lost the game at the LoS more than at QB. I'm all for franchising Cutler for a year, drafting a QB early and going from there. They'll need a great off-season to remain competitive rather than natural progression of the current roster which is a crapshoot.
  12. If Wood is not interested, I'd like to see them go after Steve Sparks (color guy for Astros radio).
  13. Start Cutler.
  14. Nothing too exciting, a couple of years ago had X-mas with Mark Ruffalo, his family is from Kenosha and my wife is close to his 1st cousin. Unfortunately I didn't know who he was. When I was 13, Sinbad got me and my friends kicked out of Great America.
  15. I hate everything associated with the Red Sox. That bitch Luccino has a stick up his ass for Theo, that he would prevent one of his employees from obtaining a job he's busted his ass for for over a decade, started at the btm to poss get to this point. Lovullo was with Tor when it went down, I could understand if it was a lateral move. The main victim is Lovullo (and me,). Day of mourning please. [expletive] Boston.
  16. Everyone but Drew.
  17. Slap the meatball out of me... There's part of me that wants almost all of the resources used on the defense this offseason. With that said, would the Bears be better off letting Cutler leave take advantage of the strength of the draft (qbs) early in the draft and develop him, saving money for the defense. Convince me that's a horrible idea. I love Cutler, I dont know if they improve the defense enough to win w/out Cutlers upcoming salary spent on defense.
  18. Soto trying to get stronger, heh. That was part of his problem in HS, 5'8" 150 on a good day trying to hit HRs in McHenry Cty, IL in April.
  19. 45-24 Packers. In general, I hate living in Wisconsin but this is when it gets worse.
  20. With their dominating performance vs Alabama St., Kentucky jumped past Purdue, Iowa St, and Cal in the RPI rankings. They're still one behind Kansas. Mizzou should destroy UK.
  21. Yes, please. http://i.imgur.com/mCPIs.gif So who's going to join me welcoming Lovullo once he arrives at ORD?
  22. Cause I have too much time on my hands... Here is my ideal coaching staff for the Cubs: Manager: Torey Lovullo Bench Coach: Dave Miley (Former Reds Manager, current AAA manager for NYY) Pitching Coach: Blaise Ilsley (Current Cardinals bullpen coach, helped develop many of the Cards current young arms) Hitting Coach: Victor Rodriguez (Assistant Red Sox hitting coach, minor league hitting coordinator for 6 years with Sox prior to that)
  23. Yes, what you likely seen from Castro his 1st 3 years is his likely ceiling. This is [expletive] ridiculous. What is he going to develop 20+ Hrs, Obp above .370. Hes only 22 but he has well over 2000 PAs. He won't be as bad as last year but to expect above what he did before last year is foolish at this point. Hope next year, I expect more. If he repeats 13', his value will be close to zero. It's foolish to consider anyone to be topped out at the age of 22. Not with the type of regression and lack of offensive discipline he has. Plus, with this clown ownership they have, if they keep gutting payroll, that 10 mil or so becomes that much more valuable if they want to mirror TB. Considering how poorly they have handled the finances, I doubt we see increasing payrolls anytime soon beyond 85 mil.

If he repeats 13', his value will be close to zero. Well, he could OBP .350 and hit 18 HR and be better than he was prior to last year. He could, although I think the odds of him repeating last year would be just as likely as him having a great year.
