Yes, what you likely seen from Castro his 1st 3 years is his likely ceiling. This is [expletive] ridiculous. What is he going to develop 20+ Hrs, Obp above .370. Hes only 22 but he has well over 2000 PAs. He won't be as bad as last year but to expect above what he did before last year is foolish at this point. Hope next year, I expect more. If he repeats 13', his value will be close to zero.

So, if Castro maxes his talent, he's Starlin Castro 2010-2012? Interesting. Edgar Renteria had five seasons better than Castro 2010-2012, and including one where he doubled Castro's best fWAR. How many seasons did he have that were worse? Did UK say if Castro maxes out his talent he'll put up nothing but Renteria's best years? I made no mention of best years, I dont see Castro having any 6 war seasons & tI dont see Castro going above and beyond what he did prior to last year. It sucks to say I don't predict much progression from a 22yo but his regression of already bad habits at the plate were frightening.

Is it worth 10 mil a year to find out with Baez on the way and prospects in return whether last year was the fluke? Hell, will Castro even stick at SS or lose much of his value at 2nd or 3rd. Id rather go with the cost effective prospects. I would not ask Wong to play SS, Barney would be the stopgap there. Judging Wong based on his small sample in his 1st call-up is idiotic compared his minor league stats.

What about Wong instead of Kozma? Obviously you would have to expect lesser pitching prospects in return and possibly shift Barney to SS until Baez is ready. Im not a fan of Castro, if he maxs his talent, he's E Renteria, last year was his floor. His salary is no longer an asset, yet his age is. Martinez and Wong Id jump on.

It would make it tolerable if Dunleavy hit a shot. the bulls struggle to bring in a jump shooter from free agency that has the reputation of hitting a jumper but once he gets the Bulls he never can (minus Baldi)
