  1. There's the mistake I was looking for from Favre. Vasher is a ball magnet.
  2. Time for a Favre mistake deep in GB territory. Why does every game have to be close? :)
  3. He passed away, played with the Bears in the late 60s, and was traded to the Bears for Ditka.
  4. Great job with the initial push, I believe that Harris. Time to give them Jones.
  5. Great job by Adrian and O-Line, they should've kept going up the middle despite being stuffed the play before. This officals have been terrible. The roughing the passer was worse, IMO. When you reach a certain level, they should just put a diaper on the QB and any hit should be called child abuse. Or just put the red jersey on him.
  6. 2 runs up the middle and a 5yd pass with 7 to go. Awful.
  7. Always good to hear Kanye West going into commerical. Play-action deep ball to Gage. Gage has a huge height advantage.
  8. This offense needs a shot of something, they've done a poor job calling plays combined with the poor play of Orton, I don't want Orton out there, but he can't have all the blame.
  9. I miss the 46 defense, best defense of all-time.
  10. Muhsin dropped a TD pass. Jones dropped a pitch back. That pass was deflected by Harris. It's not all of Orton's fault, but he hasn't played well this year. He hasn't done welll today either.
  11. Clark dropped the ball that was Orton's INT. That's the only one I remember. I would've taken a shot and this Bears team is too conservative. The Bears have looked bad on both sides of the ball. Special teams has been great.
  12. His defense will be better than Dubois, there's no doubt in my mind that he's better defensively than Dubois, he's probably similar to the level that Alou and Sosa brought during '04-'05. If I was to guess, I would predict Pierre and Jacque Jones in CF and RF.
  13. Same company, diff. paper. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-0512040184dec04,1,7733215.story?coll=chi-sportsnew-hed
  14. I actually see JH staying put with the MI the way it is: a 4 man platoon? Cedeno @ SS, Hairston @ 2nd v.s. Lefties & Neifi @ SS, Walker @ 2nd v.s righties Lugo to the Braves seems more likely & Huff to the Cubs. I wouldn't mind it, I wouldn't call it a platoon as far as Neifi and Cedeno. If it's a straight R/L platoon, Cedeno would sit way too often and Neifi is a better hitter from the R side. But, a R/L platoon with Hairston/Walker is fine by me. Hairston has the ability to play several positions and can be productive as a util. type/occasional starter. It wouldn't be by the books, but if Walker needed a day off and the Cubs were facing a LH'er, I'd have no problem with hairston starting at 2B.
  15. Nor would he go to Philly, I suppose. I read in the Sun-Times that Mench isn't a target and the Cubs have decided to get a LH bat in the OF, and I can't think of anyone on the Rangers squad who fits the bill. Perhaps Walker to the Mets for Floyd? I think that would be worth exploring, I think you'd have to have a quality 4th OF'er given Floyd's injury history. I'm not sure how eager they'd be willing to give floyd up now that they unloaded Cameron, depending on how they feel about Nady.
  16. At this stage, there's a chance that LA will non-tender Bradley and it appears that the Cubs might do likewise w/Patterson if they can get a CF. The Phillies aren't going to trade Michaels while they're taking offers for Abreu as try to improve on their biggest need, a #1 starter. Pierre comes into the mix as the Yankees and Cubs now look to him even more. The Yankees will likely wait till Florida lowers their demand for Pierre, which will complicated by the Cubs increased interest in Pierre. Personally, I'd wait till around 12/20 when the non-tendered list comes out to see what LA will do with Bradley, see what state the Marlins are in as far as their purge, and if the Philles will be able to get what they want for Abreu and if they don't, pursue Michaels.
  17. I can't see Walker going to either TB or Wash. if he was to be included in acq'g Wilkerson/Huff. Washington has Vidro as oft-injured as he has been and TB has Cantu.
  18. When I say on the cheap, I'm talking about players req'd to get him not salary. You could ideally get Wilkerson or Dunn much cheaper financially than Huff, but give up more to get him. Huff is coming off a down year and is the most expensive player on their roster at a postion where they have surplus of younger, highly talented, and cheaper players. Huff is a perfect fit for any team needing a LH bat for a corner OF spot, They also happen to have a SS who can leadoff and one of the talented younger players in the game that is waiting to play there or will shift to the OF.
  19. I'm just worried that players that had a decrease in power in 2005 like Huff may have had them for a reason. I like to see the Cubs get Lugo do you think that the Cubs could out bid Atlanta player wise? They could outbid Atlanta as far as players req'd to get Lugo, but I don't see Atlanta being as major player for Lugo. They wanted to keep Furcal w/out question, but I'm not sure they have Betemit slotted for 3B, SS, or even an everyday day player. With Jones and Marte at 3B, I can't see them putting Betemit at 3B, I think he showed why he has been a top prospects over the last few years with his '05 season. I think Atl. is committed to putting Betemit as their starting SS than the Cubs are w/Cedeno. I think Huff needs a new start in an organization that isn't worried about keeping the payroll under 30mil at the expense of winning.
  20. Despite the flaws defensively as well as the off-year, I think the Cubs will go after Huff and try and get him on the cheap. I would not be surprised if they inquired about Lugo as well.
  21. I have a taste for Carson's Ribs now. Gracias. (not off of Hendry's chest) :)
  22. No one should be, some are just content from our vantage point and some are not.
  23. Well, I hope that's accurate. Good luck in LA.
  24. Cubs have a budget, it exists. I can't pretend that a move that would likely absorb 10% of the payroll doesn't impact how the remaining 90% is spent both in the short and long terms.
