  1. Oregon got a sack on 3rd down likely leading a FG (can't remember the distance) but the player while running off the field did a Japanese bow like Justin Tuck does and rec'd a celebration penalty/automatic 1st down. The important detail there is he also sprinted to near-midfield to do that bow. Still, I'm glad it didn't end up making a huge difference in the outcome given the sack/strip. He would've been flagged had he done it without sprinting to midfield. I'm usually on the other end of this argument but he shouldn't have been flagged for that.

  3. Fear. Jay you poor bastard. Run hard. Run fast. Luckily it might be the worst D-Line they play all year.
  4. Anything to have Baez not end up with a slash line like Kevin Roberson is a plus.
  5. Any hot dog bought at a gas station doesn't constitute being either a sandwich or a hot dog at that point.
  6. You can only get so much fun out of a hot dog. Or any other sandwich, really. [restart thread] a hot dog isn't a sandwich[/restart thread] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Wrong, the only way it wouldn't be considered a sandwich would be if they separated sub sandwiches into it's own category and not called it a sandwich. They need to make up their mind on whether a sandwich only consists of bread and has to be separated, if they do that then a hot dog wouldn't be considered a sandwich. Until then... Sandwich.
  7. Span will get his 9.5 mil contract picked up and then becomes a FA after this year, I'd pass on giving up a top prospect at this point for him.
  8. It doesn't hurt to ask. Fwiw, there's not much of a drop-off from Cruz to Cooks.
  9. Bengals just barely over Detroit. Orton will throw the ball better than Manuel. NE is just bad on offense, no O-Line and no playmakers. Either way, you're in good shape.
  10. That was a horrible call. These new rules are designed to give refs too much grey area. You can't give them this much discretion.
  11. Solid game going on right now with Arizona up on Oregon in Eugene heading into the 4th. Rodriguez still has their number.
  12. Pick 3... B. Marshall E. Sanders V. Cruz P. Garcon Michael Floyd
  13. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/sports/concussion-watch/76-of-79-deceased-nfl-players-found-to-have-brain-disease/ This issue hasn't gone away and I hope many decline the settlement and the judge allows such challenges. I want the NFL to be held accountable for the brutality of the sport. Settle it with cash and deny responsibility shouldn't be deemed as an acceptable plea bargain. They know admitting responsibility will eventually bankrupt the league from former players, especially with all the (never a past/recent history) cover-ups they have done regarding concussions. Of course, they would never claim a media source to be false or decline comments. Maybe Goodell could put some black shoe polish in his hair, host an event on Labor Day for the former players and call it a day.
  14. You ever tried to deny a 60-pound autistic kid his videos? I don't care if everything else in life falls apart, the internet is always there. derwood can watch whatever he wants O M G Just end NSBB on that note.
  15. Funny thing is that folks down here would probably buy the plane ticket for Les to go elsewhere. Mullen was maybe one subpar season away from losing his job. Gundy? Meh. I just dislike his whole act. Just reminds me too much of Houston Nutt, a rah rah guy who actually is a buffoon. Perhaps that's an overstatement, but pass. If I were hiring a coach I would back up the Brinks truck for Briles. I'm biased and it's too early for elite programs like Um and UF but I like what Stoop s has done at UK. I'm interested in seeing how he handles the BB gun incident involving 4 players. I hope he doesn't go too soft.
  16. How is Carolina still favored in this game?
  17. I don't see Briles or Patterson leaving either TCU or Baylor, there just isn't much there as far as premiere coaches moving up. I would consider Miles and Gundy as two most likely in that category. Maybe Mullen too.
  18. I'm all in with Fowler for next year.
  19. When Allen comes back, they need to move Houston on the inside on all passing downs. He lives off of run defense rather than pass rush.
  20. Without pressure, it was basically 7-on-7 for Rodgers against that zone. The few blitzes called were incredibly predictable and easily picked up. Some creativity was needed. Yup. You might as well blitz rather than letting him sit back there with a perfectly clean pocket. Even if he is perfect against the blitz you don't lose anything inasmuch as he killed us even when we dropped 7 back. The flaw was more in the zone coverage rather than only rushing 4.
  21. I don't blame Tucker for not calling blitzes, Rodgers is great against the blitz, but there were no stunts, it was vanilla . This loss falls mainly on the defense but they still scored 17.
  22. It was dumb, although either way, you'll see recruit attrition. As for candidates... I don't think there's any chance we'll go the retread route after Chuck's performance. I also think Gill will have made them a little gunshy about the mid-major route, although maybe Craig Bohl would get consideration. I think Beatty or Ed Warriner or Scott Frost or Tom Herman seem like where we might land, although Herman might not want the job, as it might be a career killer. Beaty is someone who can recruit in TX, if they want to do defense, I'd look at Venables from Clem as well. Either way, I'd look at it as if you hire someone who's successful in 3-4 years they're likely going elsewhere, like I view Stoops at UK. Hudspeth at ULL will likely end up in a major conf. but I don't think its a good fit for KU.
  23. You're making a comeback... I haven't run into [expletive] luck like last year.
  24. Agreed. It's hurting my enjoyment of football though. I hate feeling like every meaningful play is waiting for the flag. I don't remember it being this bad. And many of these calls are shaky as hell at best, flat-out wrong at worst. It was one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen. That includes the two BS calls against GB on that 1st drive. I can't believe the NFL is still in the 80s with their camera system too. David, I recall the Bears over the last 20 games to be really conservative and not good with clock management in the last 2 minutes. It could be clouded judgment but that's the perception I have.
