  1. I wouldn't put the Bears into the best of the NFC yet, althoiugh yesterday's win probably bumped them to a 7 win team, IMO. Dallas is better than anybody in the NFC by a decent margain.
  2. He rarely gets hit by anyone, but I agree they need to get more pressure. As for the fumble call, to go back to that, I don't understand something. The refs agree it was a fumble, but just because they couldn't figure out who ended up with it (when it looks, btw, like it was Wolfe from the start) they give it back to the fumbling team? How does that make sense? It's a 50/50 call at that point. Puzzling. It was BS, they basically made up a rule or it came in effect before the season started b/c if he fumbles that ball is live and whoever ends up with it once the whistle blows gets it obviously. The challenge was whether or not it was a fumble. The Bears challenged it, saying it was a fumble. The refs said it was fumble but could not determine who recovered it, so Indy got the ball. It was a [expletive] call, a call that might end up deciding the game.
  3. Forte has been great, this field surface is perfect for him.
  4. The Bears have done well, they need to keep a TE to chip Freeney more b/c he owns St. Clair tonight. Orton hasn't made any mistakes and has about 50% accuracy on deep throws, which is better than I expected. This lead should be bigger than what it is b/c of the flaws of bad refs, between flag FB for QBs and moreso blowing the whistle so soon, this game could/should be a wider lead. When did that rule get established about a fumble being undecided after a scrum? They ruled it a fumble and since they couldn't tell who came up with it, they decide to give to to Indy? What happened to letting them fight for it? The league has is softer than it has ever been and that is saying something, with Brady gone now, I expect blows to the knee to be monitored more closely. Manning is off tonight and the Bears need to capitalize. They still haven't hit him hard.
  5. Don't hate on my cats. 6-6 here we come. They had a bad '08 recruiting class, luckily '09 is looking much better. this team is totally different from the past two years. obviously, that's to be expected, considering the amount of seniors on last year's team, but i was really impressed by the defense. that front 4 is going to create problems for a lot of teams. Rich Brooks has always beena defensive 1st coach, this is the 1st time since arriving that he has a good enough defense. The games vs. Georgia/UF/etc they will get upon regardless but vs. Vandy/MSU those are the games from years past where UK can win games defensively.

I honestly don't know a lot about Hartline, but I've always thought Pulley was pretty good. Am I out of line there? I'm pulling for Randall Cobb, by the way. I watched him absolutely run over one of the HS teams I cover for two years while at Alcoa and it'd be nice to see him do well in college (just not against Tennessee  ). Pulley was gifted as an athlete, he was to be what Shane Boyd was not as far as being an athletic QB that could throw. It's a loss, they don't have any good QBs until next year with the recruit from TX. Hartline doesn't have a strong arm, hopefully will be accurate enough not to cost them games. They are hoping to run the ball and have the defense win them games. Damn, I'm describing the Bears.

  8. He was a different kid out there than everyone else, built like a man, serious approach to the game, intense kid.
  9. Odd to think that only 3 1/2 years ago I was watching him pitch in Naperville.
  10. I definitely wish him luck, he's a very level-headed kid who's had to work hard to get where he's at.
  11. Meh, they knew Williams had a bad back and left Albert on the table. Knowing he had a bad back would've been enough for me to go with Albert.

  13. Doug Eddings enough said. AJ get bailed out making a terrible baserunning mistake. How Maddon doesnt get himself ejected I have no clue. If I was him I would have sat on 2nd base and said Im not moving untill you get the call correct :D Blue isn't going to overturn the call, I read the lips of another ump and he said "I have no idea". I don't blame Maddon for not getting ejected, what is it going to do? TB should protest the game, not that it does anything though. Yea I agree the ump isnt going to overturn the call. Man I just really really hate MLB umpires. The MLB umpires' union has too much power to where they don't become accountable for when they perform poorly or worse in this case. If anyone questions whether or not someone is trying to fix a game, this is the best time to do so.

  15. It is legit if AJ can get away with it. The one who was responsible for allowing it to be legit should be suspended.
  16. That is the worst call I have ever seen and there have been plenty of bad ones. How in the hell could they determine that AJ did not initiate contact. I don't blame AJ as he did the right thing, IMO. But that ump should be punished. Blame goes to Upton as well for not hustling again and Riggans for not catching a simple throw from LF in the btm of the 9th. That's worse than the 85 WS against the Cards, which was the worst I had ever seen up until now.
  17. If TB goes 17-17 the final 34 games, Boston will need to go 22-11 to be tied for 1st & finish with 96 wins. (assuming a win today)
  18. That's partially why the Rays have the best record in baseball. They have an amazing ability to come back. Doing this without Crawford, Longoria, and Percival. Feel the heat! RAYS!
  19. Hester is at his best on the deep fly pattern, the screens don't work for him on offense.
  20. switch the vikings with the packers, along with the records, and you've got it. oh, and the bears will never finish 6-10, that's way too optimistic. 4-12, i think. Agreed, I see the Vikings taking this division.
  21. Agree with everything there except the defense being fine. That offense is going to keep that defense out there long enough to where statistically; they become bad as far as total numbers.
  22. the bears have a great core of players. what sucks is that none of them are offensive players, unless you count hester. Their time has passed though. This one was once a great core on the defensive side, now it's a declining core of players. i would argue that only urlacher is declining, 2 if you count brown. the others are in their prime. Harris hasn't been the same either and very shortly both DEs will start to regress.
  23. I think this year may be it. I'll keep hoping and cheering, but I'm thinking 6-10 to 8-8 (at best). I'd rather see them win w/Angelo, but with the way these drafts have unfolded.... I don't see it.

  25. Bears fans love the 3rd string QB.
