  1. The problem is, at least with Dusty, is that he see's Barrett hitting .over .300, and ignores his .390 OBP. Just like earlier in the year he saw Ronny Ce and his .300 avg and batted him second, completely ignoring his sizzling .320 OBP. This is why Adam Dunn won't be on the Cubs any time soon.
  2. He's similar to a pre-cocaine Doc Gooden.
  3. Neil Young, alone, would beat Sabbath and CSN, even CSNY. His albums Zuma, Everybody knows this is Nowhere, Rust Never Sleeps, Ragged Glory, Tonight's the Night, Reactor, On the Beach, Freedom, Mirrorball- the list is ridiculous. I realize that solo artists aren't in this poll, but if they were....
  4. Josh Gibson's my pick, but since we aren't picking from the Negro Leagues, I'll have to go with Rick Wrona.
  5. I disagree, but PF is my favorite band ever. You'll see The Who very soon Excellent. Is there another band who had dynamite in their Drum kit and has been on the Simpsons?
  6. Pink Floyd is great, but not a number one. This is the Whos' spot.
  7. Is this the worst a 100million dollar team has ever done?
  8. I hope my favorite JWill comes around soon. I still think he could be a decent pitcher for the Cubs.
  9. Any chance the White Sox would take Jones? Then move Pods to CF? Brandon McCarthy would just be so sweet.
  10. I want a firesale because this team is BO-ring.
  11. Christ almighty! All we've heard for like the last 10 years (hyperbole) is how great Guzman is going to be. Can we please just let him pitch? Ugh. Can we make some trades?
  12. So, for a second, assume the Cubs get A-Rod. Having him and DLee next to each other in the lineup is similar to Manny and Ortiz. But how would you fill out the rest of the lineup? Assume Jones and Aramis are traded for him. Go.
  13. C: Barrett (He socked AJ) 1B: Helton 2B: Utley/Castillo 3B: Cabrera (That's where I'd play him) SS: Bill Hall LF: Adam Dunn CF: Grady Sizemore RF: Bobby Abreu SP: Zambrano RP: Zumaya
  14. Marvin Gaye singing the National Anthem at the NBA All Star game. Unreal.
  15. Abreu is under contract next year he will get 15 mill the club has option for 2008 of 16 mill. So the only way you can get him is trade for him. Yeah I know, I was just trying to compare his salary with CLee's potential one. In my opinion, the Cubs should give it all away for Abreu. If we have any pitching prospects (if they even exist), we'll destroy their arms anyways. Trade Pie, trade Harvey, whomever, just get Abreu.
  16. The Cubs are "Still Ill?"
  17. Carlos' career numbers: .294/.337.488 Jock's: .279/.327/.455 Abreu: .303/.411/.512 First off, Carlos is better than Jock, but not that much better, and actually, a pretty similar player. Jock strikes out more, but neither of them are huge fans of the walk. In my opinion, we don't need another player like this, like Jock. The team needs patient hitters who will work counts and get on base. If you were going to pay CLee 10 mil per, why not just suck it up and go after Abreu, and pay him the 13 million?
  18. Pierre doesn't really help ths team all that much, but he's pretty fun to watch. Damn. What about Vernon Wells? Is he a FA?
  19. Does Crawford have the arm for center? I suppose it'd have to be a pretty lousy arm to be a downgrade from noodle-armed Ivory, but I heard Crawford has a pretty weak arm.
  20. i'm not big on wuertz, but that's a pretty strange thing to say. he's had over 100 decent big league innings. he was real good in 2005 until he got run into the ground. how novoa cracks the big league roster over wuertz is beyond me. novoa has inexplicably become one of dusty's guys despite the fact that he's awful and under 30. the guys this organization latch onto really boggle the mind sometimes. Yeah I ate that statement pretty good. D'oh! They play Novoa just so they can say Farnsworth was worth something.
  21. I can't wait! Who do you think we'll drop to giiiiit him?
  22. Why would you think that? He was plenty good in 75 innings at the MLB level last year. He was a lot better than I thought. For some reason I thought his walk rate was higher. Looks like I should have just kept my mouth shut on this one.
  23. Juan Pierre's OBP is now .301, making him better than the OBP of Cubs' leadoff hitters last year (.299). It's been a long time coming, but it looks like that trade is finally paying off. Florida, hahaha, boy did they get fleeced!
  24. Sadly, I think Wuertz might be one of those AAAA pitchers. Although that K/BB rate is pretty hot.
