  1. Hmm did he miss it? :?: :?:
  2. A whole bleacher section would be nice . NSSB and the heckler should sponsor it. 30-40 posters and heckler staff passing out the bags would make some nice advertisment for NSSB.
  3. If Miggy is on the market and going for that cheap Hendry has to take gamble and get the Cubs an impact hitter. If the Cubs can hang onto Cedeno in a deal for Miggy they can slide Cedeno over to second forming a middle infield that could cover some serious ground.
  4. Just like he got on patterson one time. After he hit two huge homeruns. Leave out that fact that Patterson missed signs from his third base coach Twice.
  5. 160 views and not one good joke NSSB posters are really depressed or there knowledge of the human body is less than I thought which makes sense considering some post counts.

  7. He's less of a gamble than Wade Miller at this point.

so who does everyone want at 16?
  9. What does average matter? Nothing. It does matter a little bit. A single is better than a walk. And both are better than an out. Dunn makes significantly fewer outs while hitting for the same power. He's better. That's what I said a few posts ago. Saying average doesn't matter at all though is foolish. A single is better than a walk. Average matters very little compared to OBP and SLG. Using it as a means to try to rip Dunn, which is what Neuby was doing, is foolish. That's fine, but goony is wrong for saying it has no value. Don't even try to tell me a walk is just as good as a single. Foolish or not I don't want a guy who's production is soley based on the long ball. Dunn doesn't hit 4 any kind of average , strike outs a ton, no speed, and can't play anywhere but first base badly at that . Is that enough to rip Dunn? There's no way he's worth 3 of are top prospects as comapared to Lee.
  10. The players it will cost to get Dunn makes Lee the easy choice. Dunn is hitting .226. Seriously come back to me when he can at least get it over the .250 line and at least look like he's seen a guy play left field before.

If the Bulls land Garnett does that make them early favorites in the East?
  12. sounds like someone has been drinking the sauce.
  13. Hillenbrand , Nomar and Huff are all free agents this offseason in case anyone was looking for a possible replacement for Ramirez in any deal.
  14. terrible Baker should have thrown a fit and get tossed or ARam someone show freaking fire already.
  15. If Barrett went on the DL, should we have just sat still with no catcher to replace him? He'll end up missing a total of 13 games with a 1B/DH as our backup catcher (who also happens to be playing every day). Nevin and Mabry are not catchers, Blanco barely is. Put the emergency catcher label on Aramis. Put the emergency CF label on Maddux. None of the above make sense. Putting someone who cannot fill the position in the position is stupid. Plain and simple. It is yet another example of horrible roster management, and regardless of how the team is performing, it should not be ignored. Not to mention that we have 12 pitchers and the bench is short. Funny how you call Blanco barely a catcher and then use the word stupid to describe putting Mabry and Nevin at catcher in an EMERGENCY. Nevin was drafted as a catcher. Mabry was used by the Cards in that role and makes sure to take some time in spring training to work on it. Did I mention Barrett was a third baseman. Also again Blanco barely a catcher? As much as NSSB mob will like you belive that Blanco sucks he's regarded as fine battery mate and has a cannon arm by many around baseball.
  16. Nevin would fit nicely in a Yankee uniform.

This would be a no-brainer for Pax -- I hope its true. The Bulls would have some nice options with the #2 and #7 picks. I would definitely agree with that. If he were to land the #7 pick, the Bulls could realistically land 2 out of these 3: Roy, Aldridge, or Thomas. Thomas and Aldridge are expected to fall down to around #7 if the Bulls do not pick one of them at #2. Roy, of course, is expected to go to Charlotte if the Bulls don't pick him at #2. Either way, this could end up being a very productive draft if we can get the #7 pick. Maybe then package #2 and #7 for a proven superstar?
  18. thats funny that Royals offered Reggie Sanders for Hughes. I know Jones and Willamson won't be enough to get Hughes. If Willamson had been healthy all year then maybe. If Maddux gets hot and would accept a deal to the Yankees I am sure big George would love to get the him. If Cano is out for an extended period of time then maybe Walker will interest him but it will take a pretty large package from the Cubs to get a guy like Hughes. For the record I am all for it.
  19. This will be Dusty Bakers final series in Chicago.

  21. welcome to the best Cubs Forum on the net Len.
  22. Chip and Steve over Bob and Len anyday of the week. Although Bob and Len have improved over the last month or so.
  23. Walker would be a perfect fit for a team like the Met's it would be nice if we could get them to take a guy like Willamson to help bolster there Pen. Willamson Maddux Walker Should net a pretty nice package from the Mets.
  24. Wow Brenly has earned my respect with todays broadcast he has been grilling this team and it is well deserved.
  25. The Cubs where in a pinch when they inserted him into the rotation and now that Guzman looks to throwing the ball well and the return of Prior the Cubs are going to bring Marmol along slowly in the bullpen like they did with Zambrano. Most of the those in the minor league forum seemed caught off guard that Marmol was being called up so quickly. Now after one good start and a couple shaky one's the Cubs are at a luxury to go back to the plan of grooming him slowly out the pen. Being reactive would have been keeping him in the rotation and letting him get pounded only because of the sucess of his first major league start.
