  1. there was a lot of lofton bashing on this board when his name came up this offseason. It's rare that you will get someone to post and admit to this offseason the same with those who where upset to give up Choi for Lee.
  2. I'm watching the Cards/Astros game and it's great to hear to get the chance to hear Stone again.
  3. thats 37.2 innings with 54 strikeouts. I had hoped he would have held onto that fifth starters job .
  4. I love this and a great joke to get Nefi in the all-star game.
  5. If Cuban bought the Cubs it should be a fun franchise to watch. ESPN would have to make this a reality televison show.
  6. Hopefully we can leave Pie down there at least till mid-august. I'm not that worried his numbers aren't earth shattering but he's playing as well as expected.
  7. If the Cubs are still tanking it come July and Wood has pitched well enough to warrant a bidding war I would love to get some of Boston's young guns with the hope that Wood would be open to returning to the Cubs at a discounted rate given his inability to stay on the mound. It won't happen but it would be nice.
  8. thats a shame I would like to see the Cubs take some guys with decent bats and try them behind the plate because catcher that can hit are a rare commodity.
  9. If doug can also play second i'm sure he's on Hendrys rader.
  10. Mojo you might wanna change your sig to include taking it in the face.
  11. when was the high note because I missed it.
  12. Glavine for sure will stick around till he gets his 300th , Johnson I don't think has enough in the tank to stick around another 2 years but I could be wrong. Johnson might be able to prolong his career with a move to the bullpen which I have heard him mention before the start of this season.
  13.
  14. It helps to have guys like Ramirez,Oritz,Pena,Lowell,Loretta, Varitek in your lineup to knock you in.
  15. didn't Tap win close to 20 games 98? For a 6 million dollar pitcher i'll take anyday. We won't get 20 wins combined most likely this season from Prior and Wood.
  16. I think there doing the right thing Heilman and Wagner at the back end of a bullpen is a good set up. There not searching for a miracle worker at of the fifth starter spot just someone to hopefully eat up some innings until they can swing a trade for a impact pitcher at the deadline or one of there young arms is ready.
  17. Mike sociasia? Not sure if he was a coach before hand.

I believe James is a RFA after next season, but it would be completely worthless to make him an offer since A, he wouldn't sign one (wouldn't be max dollars), and there's no chance in hell Cleveland wouldn't match it. In 08, he should be an UFA, and he has some weird endorsement clauses that kick in if he goes to New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles. While it would be ideal to think he'd come to Chicago, we'd be hard pressed to be enough under the cap to make him an offer. We'd have to rid of Tyson and essentially say bye to some of our current core to have a chance of landing him. I think the odds are pretty remote. A realistic scenario is the Nets moving to Brooklyn with part owner Jay-Z, who apparently is very tight with James. Vince Carter is an unrestricted Free Agent after next season and could be let go with the hopes of landing James as the ultimate Free Agent Prize. I don't think its too far fetched. Granted, James could make more "salary" with the Nets, but his endorsements skyrocket if he makes it to one of the "big three" cities. And the Knicks sure as hell ain't gonna have the cap room. I have no problem trading Tyson Chandler to clear the cap room when the time comes if it gave us a shot at landing James.
  21. Wow the Dusty lynch mob has arrived I think he actually gave Ramirez some credit and didn't throw him under a bus. He's a supporting actor that is getting paid too much in Sullys words not Bakers.

I was reading an espn about an ad the Cavs owner took out trying to lure King James to stay a Cav. Is he a free agent this year? Aren't the Bulls 20 million under the cap? With the amount of talent they have already plus a number 2 pick and the chance to swap picks again with what will be a terrible team again next year for the Knicks the Bulls should be able to take that next step in a hurry.
  23. Right field bullpen bar? Jose Cuvero fan deck? How come the Cubs always draw so well on the road? Is that because peolpe are hoping we bring the Beer garden with us? Sell outs during spring training? Wrigley North? Wrigley South? I think the this long standing junk that Cubs fans are all drunks is a more than offbase.
  24. I'll clear this a up a little bit Ozzie's kid is in the dugout because he works for the Sox as a translator for one of the players. Cora bit Jones? LOL
