Despite his bad FiP, I like the fact Haren has been able to go 6 innings on average.. it helps keep the bullpen fresh. Its gonna be up to the bats to wake up. If the kids get hot, no reason we couldnt average 4+ runs / game.. hoping they get hot. -
Agreed i think if it works out for him that would be nice

Maybe i think hammel is playing half hurt. he hasnt been his usual self in recent starts. -
does joe have the nuts to do that tho? It will be interesting on schwarber catching days however. Maybe KB plays left and Baez at 3b on those days?

Since the F/O couldn’t get a good deal for some big names, I am happy they upgraded the team without giving much up. The minor leaguers that got traded will either all be Rule 5 Eligible or FA after this year (for lake if he isn’t on 25 man by end of the year he was FA anyways) New Players via Trade Haren’s basically free, no salary| Better than Roach/Beeler/Richards/Wada Hunter is decent 7th inning type guy. Guys coming back from DL/Minors Baez Montero La Stella Wada Including the trades lets summarize where the team stands roster wise. This is just my guess, so feel free to post up your guess as well! Haren replaces Medina on roster Hunter replaces Rowen Wada DFA to Iowa But they still have 14 pitchers, a short bench (11), and 3 catchers! So I imagine Teagarden is going to be the first to go when one of LaStella/Baez/Montero are ready. The second will probably be Herrera I guess the cubs keep Montero on the DL until September when the rosters expand Anyways at what point does the Soriano experiment end? Since he is Joe’s “trusted men from Tampa” does he stay anyways? When Baez comes up where does he play? Where does Castro go?

Here is hoping Castro is so excited that he didnt get traded that he goes absolutely nuts and hits .350 the rest of the season lol

if gyorko comes with ross/kimbrel and castro goes do the cubs throw in la stella? gyorko is an expensive backup but i cant see him starting over baez at 2b... that said even tho his hitting has been bad, he has some pop. looking at his picture though he reminds me of mark bellhorn for some reason.

as long as javy can hit similar to wilmer flores he will be fine

Exactly where I'm at. Addendum: if they have to take Gyorko to make the latter happen, I'm not against it. gyorko can give bryzzo russell baez all days off. has a lil pop for a pinch hitter.. i'd bite that bullet if it means not trading baez

yeah he didnt look good past 2 starts, hammy injuries can linger for a while.. -

Now we're bitching about making moves here. Can't please anyone. Aren't you one of the people who don't want them trying? well i cant imagine they had to give up any big prospects, but who knows. its better than richards/beeler/wada his FiP is terrible tho..4.57... -
