  1. Is there any word if this will be a 7 day concussion DL stint or the standard 15 day?
  2. See you in 2013, Matt.
  3. Surgery now means 2013 will still be in play. Do it.
  4. I have been hesitant to use my transactions for anything less than an injury, but I was nearly to the point of giving up on Pena. Now I am glad I didn't. I think he will get HR crazy for a bit. In 20 games from now, I am calling he will be at 8 or 9 on the season.
  5. Talk is cheap. Kinsler has three already. :yahoo:
  6. Don't forget down by three runs. :good: Dusty knew what he was doing. He had this one the whole way.
  7. Having Theriot on the team should help take Pujols to a whole new level of excellence.

  10. I would be interested.
  11. That interview made the "most fascinating" player involved in that trade sound like the most boring. Nice work.
  12. I rarely pay attention to who the the announcers for any given game. I started watching the game just after half and could have sworn that I was listening to Phil Simms instead of Mayock. I was surprised when they went to a booth shot and I didn't see Simms (though I guess I should have known since it was on NBC). To my ears they sound nearly identical and even say some of the same dumb crap. Though I guess many of the color men say the same stuff. Not many are truly insightful.
  13. At what point do you kick the FG if you are the Saints?
  14. Championship Week against a bitter rival. The team that got me to this point is virtually unrecognizable. I have options...good options, but perhaps too many choices. QB Freeman, TB vs Sea Kitna, Dal vs Ari Tebow, Den vs Hou Freeman is probably the safe play and is going against the #28 defense. Kitna has done well recently but plays the surprisingly respectable #8 Cardinal defense. Tebow has God on his side and faces the worst defense against QBs. WR (pick 3, non-ppr) Britt, Ten vs KC S Johnson, Buf vs NE V Jackson, SD vs Cin D Jackson, Phi vs Min DJax is an automatic start especially against the #22 defense that has essentially quit. VJax is probably automatic as well against the #25 defense. Johnson faces the #27 defense, so he has to be considered. Britt faces the #21 defense. RB (pick 2) Foster, Hou vs Den (or Ward if Foster is a no-go) Stewart, Car vs Pit Westbrook, SF vs StL Lynch, Sea vs TB Foster is automatic if he plays, but do I play Ward against the worst rush defense in the league if Foster doesn't play? Normally Stewart would be my second choice, but has to face the best rushing defense. Westbrook faces the #13 rushing defense. Lynch would be my all-or-nothing pick. He went off a couple of weeks ago against a porous defense and faces another poor (#23) defense this week for a team with serious QB issues in a must-win game. I am leaning toward the following lineup: Freeman DJax VJax Johnson Foster or Ward Lynch

    Finals

I have three teams in the Championship Game. My money league team looks like this: *QB-Freeman, TB vs Sea QB-Kitna, Dal vs Ari QB-Orton, Den vs Hou (I will probably drop him this week) *WR-Britt, Ten vs KC *WR-D Jackson, Phi vs Min *WR-V Jackson, SD vs Cin WR-S Johnson, Buf vs NE *RB-Foster, Hou vs Den RB-Stewart, Car vs Pit RB-Westbrook, SF vs STL RB-Ward, Hou vs Den RB-Lynch, Sea vs TB *TE-Winslow, TB vs Sea *K-Rackers, Hou vs Den *D-Pittsburgh vs Car I haven't decided on a second RB yet. I also am not sure if Johnson will be my 3rd WR or if Freeman will be at QB. I may drop Orton and pick up Tebow so God will be on my side next week, if she even cares about fantasy football.
  16. I went against nearly every expert ranking I saw this week and switched to Jackson about five minutes before game time. Needless to say, I am happy with that decision. He is the only player either one of us had playing tonight so I will have at least a 29 point lead going into Sunday. I ended up winning by 38 and my team is headed to the Championship game for the first time in this league. Its been a good fantasy season for me. I played in six leagues this year, four of which I play every year, the one here, and one random league that I am playing for second time. I had five teams make the playoffs and three of them are playing for the championship next week. Good luck to everyone that made their Championship Game.
  17. I went against nearly every expert ranking I saw this week and switched to Jackson about five minutes before game time. Needless to say, I am happy with that decision. He is the only player either one of us had playing tonight so I will have at least a 29 point lead going into Sunday.
  18. I have some decisions to make as my team heads to the semi-finals against the #2 seed in my money league. Orton vs Oakland Freeman vs Det Oakland entered last week as the sixth-worst defense against the pass, and last week's game didn't help them any. Detroit entered as the tenth-worst, but will undoubtedly improve. Steve Johnson vs Mia Kenny Britt vs Hou Vince Jackson vs SF I need two of the above (non-PPR). Miami is very good against WRs, ranking as the sixth best defense. Houston is horrible, but is Britt fully recovered from his injury and can the Tennessee QBs take advantage? San Fran is in the lower third against WRs, but Jackson is still something of an unknown. I also have Lance Moore (vs Bal) and Randy Moss, who is dead to me. Winslow vs Det Detroit has allowed the sixth fewest points against TEs. Should I consider Scaife vs Hou, who has allowed the most points against TEs, or Fasano vs Buf, who has allowed the third most?
  19. I joined a week after the playoffs so I could share in the misery. Of course, I thought 2004 would be the year....
  20. RIP Ron You are a Hall of Famer in every sense.
  21. What a disaster. VJax went out after two plays...no points. Gore would have run for 150+ easy but goes down with a season-ending injury. Johnson drops that TD pass. My kicker (Bironas) gets shut out. And my team losses by two points. My team went from being one of the favorites to probably looking forward to next season. Its a keeper league so at least I will have Foster to look forward to again next season, I guess.
  22. I sat Moss and it has paid off. He only got two points. Johnson had only six, and should have had another ten. It turns out my throw away WR, Lance Moore had nine points on Thursday. I am going into the late games with a 20 point lead, but he has Vick and Janikowski against Orton and DJax. The game will probably be decided tomorrow night. I have Gore vs Breaston and Crabtree.
  23. Vick did take over half way through the 2nd quarter. FWIW, Vick took over at halftime of the game. Kolb got concussed on a third down run midway through the second quarter. He then came back for the Eagles last series of the half, a three-and-out. Vick came in on the first series of the second half, which lasted three plays because of a fumble on a pass play. By the time Vick got the ball a second time, the Packers were ahead 20-3. After the game, I remember thinking the Eagles looked like the better team with Vick at QB. Both teams are obviously better teams that what they showed week 1, but I think the Eagles are better.
  24. I have pretty much come to the same conclusion, but we are talking about the Houston secondary. They are beyond bad. I have a suspicion that Moss goes off for two TDs if I bench him. As far as Smith is concerned, he did at least make a couple of attempts to Moss. One was a very nice throw for a TD that was called back for offensive pass interference (Moss kinda pushed off). Thanks for the input. I am sure that it is one of those decisions I can't get right. With my history against this guy the two guys on my bench will each score 15+ points and the three in my lineup will score 15 total, and my team will lose by two.
