  1. Objectively, who'd you rather have?
  2. what in the world lol. That has to be a joke, right? Besides being right handed and having the ability to play multiple positions in the infield...sure, why not? Outside of Baez's strikeout issues, he projects to be pretty similar to Machado if he reaches what most of us think he can be right? Great defense, +power and a 270 avg? That's what most of us would murder for him to be.
  3. To me, he only says this if he knows deep down already what he plans on doing. He has serious interest in playing for the Cubs. A hometown discount would be nice.
  4. Whats the average age in his level of A ball? Wheres he stack up?
  5. Oh man, how cool would it be if he could hit .300? That would mean he's a great player if he could hit .300.
  6. Well, it's pretty weird for you to think we'd trade one of our best starting pitchers in a quest to improve our starting pitching. I get that you are saying we'd then trade for Hamels, but I think it's pointless -- Hammel isn't getting moved. Btw, what is a "multi year starter"?
  7. Just think, we could have LeMahieu, Donaldson AND Josh Hamilton right now. Way to go, Cobs!!!!!
  8. we're talking about bill murray the alcoholic wife beater right? Bill Murray, the alcoholic funniest man alive, is who I'm talking about. P.S. If you're going to label someone a "wife beater" you should have more proof than a disgruntled ex in a divorce ca$e.
  9. Nick Offerman + Bill Murray. That makes up for pretty much any douchecanoe you can come up with.
  10. "The problem is, is he's not clutch! If you excuse the few times he's been clutch, of course.." Im as frustrated with Castro as anyone and am ready to bench him for other options, but that sentence is pretty ridiculous.
  11. Arodys Vizcaino just threw 4 straight 100 mph pitches
  12. Some people need to know how long a leash they should allow him, duh.
  13. Because like everyone else, you kind of forgot he existed? Serious question though; how many success stories are there regarding guys who were converted between pitcher/position player at this point in their minor league career? There are guys like Marmol and Wells who made the jump early on. But other than Rick Ankiel, I can't think of too many who did it after at any point after spending time in AA or above. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qi-ab3gEwIE/Uan32Lwxo9I/AAAAAAAAX7g/00_aE9GQrbA/s1600/Pinnacle+1994+Kieschnick.jpg
  14. Obviously, Castro is a 3 time All Star, a prestigious honor that will never be taken away from him. BUT... does anyone know what kind of seasons he was having at the time of those selections? Basically, I'm wondering if he was truly an "All Star" or was he just the best representative at the time from 3 really poor Cubs teams, because I honestly can't remember.
  15. He's the most monsterous monster who's ever monstered.
  16. Ok, maybe mad was the wrong word. Zach Zaidman was on the radio getting himself all twisted into a pretzel over it. I just think it's a silly criticism. Getting in on this late but with Donaldson and Jeter years ago and other less notables diving head first into the stands for balls, you'd think someone holding an infant in the first row would be more interested in tracking the 230lb dude charging towards him and not a worthless foul ball, but whatever. It all worked out for the dork but yeah, he's no hero. It was probably more likely the ball bounce and carom towards the child than Gonzalez to completely overestimate where the ball would land and dive super-man-style over the tarp and into the stands. Especially since he wasn't running full speed. In that situation, sure. Dude has his eye on the ball the whole time, not Gonzalez. So he had no idea if he was running full speed or not, under control, etc. Seems like a weekly occurrence where an under control first baseman catches a ball over the rail and has their momentum take them into the seats, knocking [expletive] over. And then there's the "other fan" wild card who isn't paying attention to you or what you're holding, either... Never forget goofy Red Sox fan. Whatever. Make fun of me all you want. Someday something bad will happen to an infant on those sidelines because it's parents aren't paying attention to them. :(
  17. Well, then good, because that's not how trades work.

  19. I love watching the Phillies fall apart. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/13069823/ken-giles-philadelphia-phillies-manager-ryne-sandberg-involved-dugout-argument
  20. thinking it does harm is rather ridiculous. Tell that to one of the parents of the numerous kids who killed themselves from cyber bullying. twitter invented cyber bullying? cyber bullying is exclusive to twitter? 4chan didn't invent child pornography or murdering, but those harmful things still existed on it.

  22. Maybe he thinks it does more harm than good? Not too crazy of a thought. I have no interest or use for Barbie dolls but I can still hate them for how they make teenage girls feel about themselves.
