  1. A 28 pitch first inning? This isn't 2005!
  2. Kerry Wood isn't clutch! He's a sissy! He can go to hell!!!!!!!
  3. In other words, a raw college player! ...as opposed to a raw high schooler. Hmmmmmmmmmmm...
  4. Prospects Stats & Scouting Reports You need BA member access. I won't copy-paste anything, but if anyone is curious about where certain players are or summaries of those guys, just ask.
  5. Can some one explain to me how Morrison would be able to create his own shot in the NBA? He got by in the NCAA because he was able to shoot over guys who were not all that advanced defensively or all that tall. I like his intangibles and think he could put up great numbers (especially in garbage time), but he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who could be the best player on his team. The only questions I have about Thomas are about his size and conditioning. Otherwise, I think his ceiling and floor are both worth the risk of taking him #1 overall. He's fundamentally sound, an excellent defensive player, smart, intense, and quite fun to watch. There's plenty of growing left for him to do, but as he is right now, he could be valuable to the Bulls. Aldridge...I just haven't liked what I've seen of him every time I've watched him. I don't think he'll become a bust or is worthless...but I have to wonder. For one, a man with his size who's had a serious hip injury is cause for concern. He's done quite well recovering from it, but will he be able to keep it healthy in the NBA? I always worry about guys who've sustained back, knee, and hip injuries when it comes to the NBA. At least Thomas injured a part of his body that doesn't play a critical role in sustaining weight, ya know? Secondly, Aldridge doesn't have the same intensity and emotion as Thomas. I know he could learn it or that it could be a non-factor, but at the same time, I really prefer guys who play with an edge, ya know? I really like Roy, though. Safest pick in the draft, great all-around player. He's not the ideal size for a SG, but otherwise he's quite sound. If Thomas is off the board, he's the guy I want the Bulls to draft.
  6. To be fair, he's just swinging at batting practice fastballs. Bob Hamelin used to look amazing doing that, too. And, if I remember correctly, the Cubs became infatuated with Ryan Harvey after he put on a display for them during batting practice. But, I do like to see that the kid has a very good eye at the plate for a high school player. He'll likely do well with whatever team drafts him, after the Cubs draft some fast guy with a rocket arm who has no clue what to swing at or what not to swing at. Drew Stubbs!
  7. Not to mention freakishly tall pitchers.
  8. Hooray for high school pitching with enormous upside!
  9. Welcome aboard! There are a few others on the board who are in total agreement with you. Apparently Scherzer would be a lock to go Top 5 if he managed to stay healthy this season. BA's comments on Rowell in their draft tracker: In the Best Tools section, in the HS ranks, he gets #3 for best pure hitter, #2 for best power hitter, and #2 for best strike zone judgment. He doesn't sound like a Cub in the making. :(

  11. Olsen goes 8 scoreless and Borowski pitches a perfect 9th.
  12. BTW, which Bears were watching? I hear Ricky Manning is a fan.
  13. Highlights on BBTN. Holy crap he was on with the fastball.
  14. Pads PH for Peavy. His night is done.
  15. 114 pitches, 74 strikes.
  16. Bears watching!
  17. I really hate Yankees prospects. They're even more overhyped than the ones in the Cubs' system. Wang is no exception. I love guys who keep the ball in the yard, but he relies so much on groundballs that it becomes a detriment. Last year: ERA: 4.02 DERA: 4.39 K/9: 3.64 BB/9: 2.48 HR/9: 0.70 K:BB: 1.47 That screams back of the rotation starter to me.
  18. Yost is just as much of an idiot as Baker.
  19. CR, my subscription ran out. What's the synopsis? Comparison between Scott Moore & Jame D'Antona of the D'backs. -Both strike out a lot. -Both aren't particularly quick or agile. -Moore is using all fields and taking pitches well. -Moore's made progress around 3B, but he likely will end up league-average defensively. He might stick there down the line, but a move isn't out of the question. Thanks, O_O. Is D'Antona someone worth comparing Moore to? What is the point of the article? Both are fairly comparable, although D'Antona has more power and been making less contact.
  20. What if a pair of star crossed lovers from each family combined the two? My God. We'd all be doomed... I think it would be the first human being ever to communicate solely in swear words since Lee Elia.
