It's not that they're giving him one...it's that they've already given him one and have been waiting for the right time to announce it.

So, even though this team is one of the most futile and awful teams the Cubs have ever fielded, no one has been fired yet. There has not even been the ceremonial scapegoating of the pitching/hitting coach yet. This thread is to take bets on who gets fired first and when. The winner gets pride and a thread bump to show their awesome predictive powers. I'll go with Larry Rothschild on July 10th.
