  1. Considering he throws with his lefthand, he should receive plenty of employment during his time in the majors. He doesn't throw particularly hard, but teams are always looking for LOOGYs and left handed starters.
  2. Paging Marty McFly and Dr. Brown. :D Hit the Quantum Leap music! Also, as well as the Braves have been doing, I'm convinced that Ned Yost is only a hair better than Dust-for-brains. His lineups, pitcher handling, and calling of the game (hit & runs, SBs, etc) leave much to be desired. However, he should get kudos for hiring Mike Maddux as his pitching coach.

  5. Juan Mateo and Rich Hill managed to survive having unusually high GO-FO ratios. As long as Ceda doesn't give up much in the way of linedrives and can strike guys out at a really good rate, he'll be fine. Congrats to the new promotees! :D

  10. Your guess would be correct. Something between .280-.310 is typically sustainable.
  11. If we're talking overall ceiling, I have a hard time seeing Mark Pawelek not ranked #1 or #2. A lefty with that kind of stuff, poise, character, and so on can turn out to be incredible. Whether or not he reaches that ceiling is another matter altogether.

  15. Z never had it to begin with, imo. The strike zone was inconsistent and his stuff was decidedly below average.
  16. Sad thing is, they've been having trouble cracking the 30,000 fan mark in Cincy during their series against the Cards.
  17. That recent HBP was unintentional, imo. I didnt think that mattered anymore once warnings were issued.... It still matters. In Barrett's case, it seemed like he almost turned into it and the pitch looked more like a mistake than anything else. If it were a bit more borderline, then I think Bush would have been tossed.
  18. He was showing up Bush. I have a feeling he'll be getting plunked later in the season or next year.
  19. The problem with that is it would likely involve inserting Henry Blanco into the lineup. Holy crap that was a shot.
  20. Well, at least this won't be a total humiliation.
  21. Following never being used during his callup earlier in the season, Wuertz has now been in for relief work seemingly every single day since coming back. Okay then!
  22. It's clear Z didn't have his best stuff today. Dusty's probably under the impression the Cubs are still in the thick of the playoff hunt.
