At best, Gallagher would give you a decent 2/3 guy in the rotation. However, while he has some major league experience under his belt, he advanced much further than was expected of him this season. His mentality on the mound is intimidating and he's got a very good feel for the game. However, he still is rough around the edges and could use some work in AAA next season. I'll also point out that AAA (for whatever reason) has been unusually rough on Cubs' pitching prospects in the past few years. I think Gallagher's upside is higher than Marshall's, but Marshall will probably perform better than Gallagher next season. Down the road, I like Gallagher's potential over Marshall's. It's just a matter of whether Gallagher will ever reach a higher ceiling than Marshall.
