  1. Holy mother of all that is good and just! The Marlins are going to be stacked in three years, by the way.
  2. The strange thing is, if you take a hard look beyond his max effort approach, his basic mechanics are incredibly sound. He does a terrific job of keeping his non-throwing arm raised and held close to his chest. He loads up his pitching arm really cleanly. His lower body motion is simply outstanding. Moreover, he doesn't do the evil inverted W which has claimed the arms of a number of pitchers. Moreover, he repeats his mechanics impressively well. I know the guy's short and hard-throwing, but that doesn't necessarily translate to arm troubles down the line.
  3. I seriously have to wonder about the availability of Ryan Braun. If the Cardinals get a 3B, there's going to be a dogfight between LaPorta and Braun in LF. I don't really see either being able to play elsewhere in the OF for the Brewers.
  4. Nice move. KW gets a lot of flak, but I'll give him credit for this deal.
  5. This has been one of the most confusing offseasons I can remember...
  6. Yeah...........that's not going to happen especially when Lincecum could be had for Bruce most likely. Although I'm not sure I'd do that either. I think Bruce would only be part of the package for Lincecum. Tim the Enchanter was a rookie last season, has an incredible ceiling, and will be cheap for a long time. They're going to want Bruce, Cueto, and probably one or two decent prospects down in A-ball, imo.
  7. At best, Gallagher would give you a decent 2/3 guy in the rotation. However, while he has some major league experience under his belt, he advanced much further than was expected of him this season. His mentality on the mound is intimidating and he's got a very good feel for the game. However, he still is rough around the edges and could use some work in AAA next season. I'll also point out that AAA (for whatever reason) has been unusually rough on Cubs' pitching prospects in the past few years. I think Gallagher's upside is higher than Marshall's, but Marshall will probably perform better than Gallagher next season. Down the road, I like Gallagher's potential over Marshall's. It's just a matter of whether Gallagher will ever reach a higher ceiling than Marshall.
  8. I'd like to have Crawford, but I was worried the Cubs would have had to overpay to get him. Hill straight up for Crawford is an iffy proposition. So, I sincerely doubt it would have been just Hill going to the Rays from the Cubs.
  9. This is my new favorite thread.
  10. Can we please use the Wonderlic exam as a way to properly evaluate whether or not people are qualified to be NFL announcers? Phil Simms has the IQ of a potato and it drives me insane.
  11. It was on Spike. It's over now. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Suckers. Timecop starts in 27 minutes out here. West Coast FTW!!! I hope you die of syphilis.
  12. It was on Spike. It's over now.
  13. Yes, but I need to know if he later goes forward in time to save his future son from getting in trouble (with the Cubs winning the WS), and then has to go back into the past to save his friend in a Wild West setting and keep the integrity of Clint Eastwood's name! He does, my friend. He does. Put up spoiler tags next time! :( I already watched FS/NMSU earlier, though. I'm footballed out for the day.

  15. It's 2007. I want automated cars, time travel machines, and cops with bad Belgian accents kicking all kinds of ass.
  16. We're not watching Timecop. We're watching NMSU/FSU. Get your act together. Jean-Claude Van Damme takes precedence over all other matters at this moment. That and the sheer number of insane paradoxes involved in this movie which make no sense.
  17. That was the slowest 10 seconds leading up to an explosion ever. And he saved his wife just in the nick of time, too!
  18. SWEET! Timecop is on!
  19. For a guy wearing a hawaiian shirt and a lei, he sure as hell doesn't look all that festive or happy.
  20. So, who gets the WAC Off. Player of the Year? O:)
  21. Fans are out on the field, hahahaha.
  22. FOR GOD'S SAKE, PEOPLE NEED TO GET TO BED. STOP MAKING THIS EXCITING.
  23. Man, if that was true, my money's on Hawaii. [-X :-$ People might wake up and see this post. WTF?
  24. I'd be all for it. I think that would cause the implementation of a tournament within the next three years.
