  1. Sadly, no. I interviewed at a bunch of places, but didn't get anything nailed down. I'm going to be working in-house somewhere. We'll see where.
  2. Rick Hill's numbers so far tonight: 5 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 5/1 K/BB, HR Former uber-prospect Jeremy Reed hit the HR. I'm guessing Hill gets another start down in Iowa, then gets called back up.
  3. Quite honestly, I think he's ticketed to a life of trading for Goldman Sachs. He's got the arrogant attitude that investment banks love to have on their payrolls. My dad is an investment banker for Goldman Sachs...yeah I guess he is an arrogant a-hole so I'm not really offended. I'm going to be working with those people for the rest of my life at the rate my education is going. Investment and business law is entertaining, but the people...well, yeah.
  4. Quite honestly, I think he's ticketed to a life of trading for Goldman Sachs. He's got the arrogant attitude that investment banks love to have on their payrolls. He's got the arrogant attitude that could make him a rogue trader that loses billions of dollars too. In this economy, most people simply shrug their shoulders at those kinds of things. Moreover, Kerviel wasn't alone over at SocGen.

  6. Banninated. I'm going to kind of miss him come MLB draft time. The dude was a jerk, but he knew his stuff. What caused the ban? http://nsbblol.wordpress.com/ That and he pretty much was continuously on the edge of getting banned ever since he started here. Quite honestly, if he didn't have a head for statistics, a very good working knowledge of baseball, and knew nothing about draft and minor league prospects, he would have been out of here in a heartbeat. The guy brought as much to the table as he took away.

  8. Kudos to Jehrico for calling this one.
  9. Given that the draft is less than a month away (!), does anyone have a list of Boras clients yet? I'd like to see what top talents could slide to the Cubs. :D
  10. Don't you dare tempt me to post pictures of Ezequiel Astacio.
  11. If that's the case and he's actually 17, that's pretty darn cool.

  14. I just heard that in Jay Mariotti's voice in my head. I will now dig out my brain with an icepick.
  15. Alright, new contest... Whoever can correctly guess Piniella's next insane and off-the-wall personnel move wins a cookie. Go!
  16. So, who wants to take bets on what Lou's overreaction of the day will be after this loss? My money's on demoting Marquis to the long man role and going to the four man rotation.
  17. That game was one of the first times I've ever wanted to actually kill a baseball player. LaTroy Hawkins is probably one of my most despised players I can ever remember on the Cubs.
  18. Yeah, but this is in St Louis and that was the greatest throw ever, Standing O. St Louis has such good baseball fans And a beautiful city by the majestic Mississippi River that does not in any way, shape or form, smell like someone just took a piss after eating asparagus!
  19. Come on, where are the Theriot defenders? It's been like two days since we've had people bicker over him.
  20. I have an idea...let's move Marquis to mop-up and let Gallagher start. ...naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
  21. I feel like this is the kind of Russian Roulette where every chamber is loaded.
  22. By the end of the season, I'm willing to bet these words will have been uttered less than 30 times.
