  1. He should have been down in Iowa for a few days to do a rehab assignment. The guy needs to work on his strike zone judgment. Soriano's never been about strike zone judgment, though. If anything, he needs to work on his ability to make good contact with the balls he swings at. That's about the only way Soriano could reasonably be expected to be productive. His strike zone judgment has a history of being poor, but it's just been awful this season. The guy has been unnecessarily over-extending and pressing a lot moreso than he did for much of last season.

  3. So...you're saying Albert Einstein was the grittiest human being who ever lived?
  4. Frankly, I'd continue testing Gallardo's knee if he's going to stay out there with bunts. It dumbfounded me when the Yankees refused to bunt in the bloody sock game against Schilling.
  5. So, does Theriot's baserunning negate any perceived defensive upside he has over Ronny Cedeno?
  6. Geovany Soto eats nails and glass for breakfast, fatboy. Don't test him.
  7. I think Yost not taking out Gallardo is more of a product of not going to the pen, TOO EARLY, instead of taking Gallardo out too early. One way or the other, I believe the 6th will be Gallardo's last innings. And here's to the Brewers bringing Turnbow in.......... Yost. That and no one was warming up so some halfway cold pitcher after warmup pitches was going to have to just run out there. The pitcher who would come in would get unlimited time to warmup. I don't think that would be much of an issue.
  8. Seriously. I'd be pissed. It's like Prior after the Giles collision. Sure it may not be a shoulder injury. But if he injures his knee there's no telling how that will affect his motion. Didn't he also require knee surgery at one point in his career? He started this season on the DL because he had surgery on his right knee. Ah, sounds like this was his left knee.
  9. So, now Gallardo can be Mark Prior to Ben Sheets' Kerry Wood!

  11. For those of us not in front of a TV, what happened?
  12. Seriously ump, the left handed batter's box is not the plate. Get your eyes checked!
  13. Tad bit, but the ump's had a weird zone today.
  14. Yeah, I'm not exactly thrilled with Z's pitching so far. He's getting a lot of movement around the zone, but not in the zone.
  15. NSBB outing to the Chiefs game at Wrigley, anyone?
  16. It was just announced on the Cubs broadcast. :D
  17. Strike 3 was a really good pitch, but strike 2 was outside. And come July 29th, the Cubs might have a few of their noteworthy draftees in Peoria. That'd be pretty spiffy.
  18. I love how commercials for Cialis, Viagra, Propecia, Just for Men, and that bladder drug are almost indistinguishable from one another. "I'm old...but I can still have fun!"
