  1. I think Yost not taking out Gallardo is more of a product of not going to the pen, TOO EARLY, instead of taking Gallardo out too early. One way or the other, I believe the 6th will be Gallardo's last innings. And here's to the Brewers bringing Turnbow in.......... Yost. That and no one was warming up so some halfway cold pitcher after warmup pitches was going to have to just run out there. The pitcher who would come in would get unlimited time to warmup. I don't think that would be much of an issue.
  2. Seriously. I'd be pissed. It's like Prior after the Giles collision. Sure it may not be a shoulder injury. But if he injures his knee there's no telling how that will affect his motion. Didn't he also require knee surgery at one point in his career? He started this season on the DL because he had surgery on his right knee. Ah, sounds like this was his left knee.
  3. So, now Gallardo can be Mark Prior to Ben Sheets' Kerry Wood!

  5. For those of us not in front of a TV, what happened?
  6. Seriously ump, the left handed batter's box is not the plate. Get your eyes checked!
  7. Tad bit, but the ump's had a weird zone today.
  8. Yeah, I'm not exactly thrilled with Z's pitching so far. He's getting a lot of movement around the zone, but not in the zone.
  9. NSBB outing to the Chiefs game at Wrigley, anyone?
  10. It was just announced on the Cubs broadcast. :D
  11. Strike 3 was a really good pitch, but strike 2 was outside. And come July 29th, the Cubs might have a few of their noteworthy draftees in Peoria. That'd be pretty spiffy.
  12. I love how commercials for Cialis, Viagra, Propecia, Just for Men, and that bladder drug are almost indistinguishable from one another. "I'm old...but I can still have fun!"
  13. Z having a bit of a problem with control in the early going.
  14. Fontenot? The only way he can be the biggest key to the Cubs' success if he is one night secretly kidnapped and replaced with Cal Ripken in his prime. ...that would be pretty sweet, actually. Someone want to get to work on a time machine?
  15. I'm guessing the run counts. We had a similar situation in a softball game a few days ago that had people confused. Runners were at the corners with two outs. The batter hits a pop-up behind first base. The runner at 1B doesn't go full bore. The ball drops and the runner at third scores easily. However, there's a quick relay to second base, where the runner was tagged out (rather than forced out). Being a bunch of law students, a massive weird discussion ensued where over whether the run scored where everyone pretended they knew what they were talking about, but no one could come to terms on the answer. My gut instinct on that one was, since it was a tag play and not a force play, the run scored. I got backup from the commissioners. However, I'm still not 100% sure on it.

  17. Remember when Wilkerson was good and we all wanted him? Good times, good times.
  18. Pretty much, although keep an eye on Marwin Gonzalez as time goes on. Teenagers down in Peoria are typically noteworthy, although Gonzalez has a ways to go before being much more than a potential prospect.
