  1. Thank heavens for that. I thought Jim Hendry was going insane for a moment there.
  2. I like how Chen's been coming along lately. He might not have superstar potential, but he's performing well enough down in Peoria to make himself a prospect.
  3. One of the things about the MLB Draft that I secretly look forward to every year are the scouting reports in all caps. You're almost guaranteed to see at least four or five guys described in a way that is commonly associated with bad romance novels. SOFT, SUPPLE HANDS. BROAD SHOULDERS. KNOWS HOW TO USE HIS BUTT AND HIPS TO GENERATE POWER. MUSCULAR LEGS. RIPPLING BICEPS. It never fails to crack me up.

  5. I give up if this is true. This team is reaching levels of idiocy I thought were only possible under Dusty Baker.
  6. Hoffpauir's not on the 40 man. Moreover, the Cubs have no backup CF if Pie goes down.
  7. http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/1868/facepalmet8.jpg Somehow, that comes as little surprise to me.
  8. Because more people are likely to come out and party with you. Plus, there will be more people out on those days who will be more likely to buy you free drinks for your birthday.
  9. Seriously, what do you think the Cubs should do? Do you honestly believe guys like Wieters and Heyward would be doing any better than Vitters at this point if either was drafted by the Cubs, given how you view this farm system? Should the Cubs just stop drafting position players, or what?

  11. You're right. Any hitting prospect in this organization is doomed to fail. We're fools to think otherwise.
  12. Did CR just post something? I have him on Foe. :D
  13. Strangely enough, it's not non-sense. Wrigley's worth is in the tens of millions of dollars, if not hundreds of millions. Wrigley also requires constant fees for maintenance, upkeep, construction, and so on. I don't know how profitable Wrigley is, but if credit is tight, potential bidders might not be able to get the financing needed to acquire Wrigley.
  14. Good Lord, calm the hell down about Vitters being a bust, people. The guy's had some nagging injuries and is still 18. He's got a ton of time to grow and develop. If you're upset about the Cubs taking him over Wieters, Porcello, Parker, etc, fine, you'll get no quarrel from me. But...damn, labeling him a bust at this point is insane. The guy hasn't been a Cub for a year.
  15. In some good news, Eric Patterson and Micah Hoffpauir are back in the lineup for Iowa tonight. According to the I-Cubs, 1B Jake Fox has been demoted to AA to make room for Hoffpauir. Geoff Jones also recently retired, so the recently signed Hector Carrasco took his place. No word yet on what moves were made to accommodate Eric Patterson's return.
  16. Pick one and explain yourself. If you're wondering, one of my friends just had a kid on May 5th. It got me thinking about this topic.
  17. It probably, ok definitely, has, my bad. *shrug* Can't say I blame you for bringing it up.
  18. Moreover, if you don't think Wieters is going to stick at catcher, it makes passing on him in favor of Soto is not the brightest idea in the world.
  19. The pitching's great, the offense is great, and Lou Piniella is teh smrat!
  20. I think Lou should keep Marshall out there, just to prove a point. "You want Marshall starting?! HA, fools! I'll show you!"
  21. Wait, that was Votto? Whatever. Just walk Dunn here and be done with it.
  22. IT'S PAUL [expletive] BAKO YOU IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!
