  1. I'm also happy to cut him some slack in the power department because he turned 20 a month ago. As you said, we don't have the benefit of statcast data, but I get a bit twitchy with a guy who's hitting a bunch of singles at a level where shoddy defense and questionable at times field conditions need to be taken into account. Still, the patience has definitely been a plus.
  2. He's starting to sneak into my top 20, but all I ask is for a few doubles and triples here and there. The SBs are nice, and I don't need HRs at this point in his career, but just a bit of power would be nice.
  3. It's also really difficult being on the other end of a team going on a historic run like the Brewers have. It'd be one thing if the Cubs and Brewers had been dueling for 1st since day 1, but seeing a large lead evaporate and then fade into the distance over the course of two months is the diarrhea on top of a horsefeathers sundae. It just magnifies the struggles and slumps, plus it makes the good games and hot streaks feel like an exercise in futility. The Cubs are a good team, but this is shaping up to be a year where a great team wins the Central.
  4. The only thing that's guaranteed to come out of the first preseason game is the growing cacophony of meatheads clamoring for Tyson Bagent to be the Bears' starting QB.
  5. This crazyass comeback will always be the first to come to mind for me.
  6. Miami is currently the second hottest team (!) in baseball behind the Brewers. Helps explain why they didn't unload Alcantara or Cabrera.
  7. They'll just call up another 4 random prospects who will somehow combine for 15 fWAR over the course of the 2026 season.
  8. He somehow has a higher fWAR than Horton coming into today.
  9. It's basically a five-way tie in Milwaukee for NLROY at this point.
  10. I get the need to manage Horton's workload, but let him pitch to Elly.
  11. This is what has me excited for Horton: Earlier this season, his four seamer was regularly getting fouled off and he was relying heavily on his offspeed stuff to get swings and misses. If this keeps up, the sky's the limit.
  12. It's been debated to death over the last 21+ years, but there's a list of roughly 50 people who should be placed above him on the blame chart for what happened in the '03 NLCS.
  13. Considering seemingly every trade acquisition in MLB has horsefeathers the bed so far, this seems apt.
  14. Tie it in the 9th, but leave a man on 3rd despite having less than 2 outs and lose in extras.
  15. This board is going to be insufferable next year when Owen Caissie starts his career hitting .079 with eighty million Ks in his first 50 plate appearances.
