  1. But I want to keep thinking Notre Dame is going to get squashed like a bug.
  2. I wouldn't have it any other way.
  3. Part 1 For those of you who missed it.

  5. I like the thought of a Garza-Samardzija-Sanchez-EJax-Feldman rotation, but that's probably asking too much at this point. Let Baker start the season in the pen to get stretched out and have Wood be long reliever/spot starter/whatever. Guys will eventually get injured, so they'll get their opportunities. That would be a pretty solid pitching staff.
  6. Because that's so much worse than the MAC/WAC/FCS non-conference Wisconsin has had for the last few years. Hey now, Oregon State actually ended up being good this season.
  7. Almora. It's really close between him and Soler for me, but I have a better feeling about Almora than Soler for some reason. Can't quite put my finger on why, though.
  8. This has been a good offseason so far.
  9. Sure thing, Matt. http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/assets_c/2012/11/Dobbins%20Jay-thumb-325x394-55382.jpg Matt Schaub Releases Exhaustive List Of Who Deserves To Be On Texans' Roster
  10. It's early and any number of crazy things can happen, but the pickings in this year's free agency class are slim and I'm not entirely sure how to view this farm system as it relates to potential trades. The front office is clearly stockpiling talent, and so much of the high end talent is in the low minors. I'm having a hard time seeming this front office trading away that talent, plus I'm not so sure how far a package built around, say, Javier Baez and Dan Vogelbach would go in a hypothetical bidding war over Felix Hernandez. I'll agree with your second two points, but Baker is such an unknown to me. I find it so strange that the Cubs think he'll be ready for the rotation from day one. Tommy John recovery times have gone down dramatically even compared to five years ago and Baker should make a full recovery, but how exactly can the Cubs expect him to go out and pitch 150 innings next season when he only pitched a third of an inning in the minors last season. I could buy the Cubs bringing in Baker for the bullpen and letting him recover that way (ala Dempster), but penciling Baker in for a rotation slot right out of spring training is just puzzling to me.
  11. 2012 Opening Day Rotation: Dempster, Garza, Samardzija, Volstad, Maholm Projected 2013 Opening Day Rotation: Samardzija, Garza, Feldman, Baker, Wood It's an improvement over where the rotation was at the end of last season, but I'm having a hard time seeing this rotation being better than average without any further additions. Still, I like Feldman and would have been happy to see the Cubs give him another year. It's a good move.
  12. This will happen. And Stanton will bring Brian Roberts and Jake Peavy with him.
  13. Yesssssssssssssssssssssssss Love the sack fumble.
  14. Wisconsin will probably end up at 4-4 in the conference and 7-5 overall, yet has already won its division thanks to Penn State and Ohio State being ineligible. I know the feeling.
  15. I know absolutely nothing about him. Would be nice to hear what smart Astros fans think of him. FanGraphs I like.
  16. +1 The odds of Javier Baez matching that production at that age are miniscule at best.
  17. Considering some of the past successes of the Cubs in acquiring pitchers recovering from TJS, I like this move. However, I'm curious if the Cubs intend to use him as a starter out of the gate, especially considering he only pitched a third of an inning at High A last season.
  18. All things considered, I wouldn't be surprised if Loria ends up owning the A's next offseason. He got the Expos moved to DC and got the Marlins a new stadium, why not send him to another franchise that's trying to squeeze taxpayers for all their worth for a shiny new stadium?
  19. Do the Orioles even have worthwhile prospects aside from Machado and Bundy?
  20. If Rex flipping Grossman can lead the Bears to a Super Bowl that they kept close for most of the game, Jay Cutler can sure as hell win one for the Bears.
  21. Is it wrong that I'm hoping Louisville and Alabama end up as the only two undefeated teams at the end of the season?
  22. I'm happy to see the Cubs attempting to deal Marmol. That's what I will take away from this.
  23. Which homer was that? Just curious. I'm pretty sure the second one. I believe that was the oppo homer, given that Verlander was looking out to left.
