Try to field a well rounded team, even if it means you have no real superstars, most of the time its better to be good in every category, rather than superb in one, and only fair in another. In other words, dont just block out any one category, like power (hr, ops, slg) in order to become outstanding in another, like wins (for pitchers, of course). It usually does not work. Well rounded teams always do best.

I love pat and ron. Ron is a complete and total homer, which makes the broadcast even better. Pat and Ron are the perfect match. Anybody that can make last years cubs bearable...they are heroes

What's wrong with Michaels leading off? Contrary to popular belief, there's more to leading off than running fast. Unpossible. Really though, If Michaels can keep his .380 Career OBP (he put up a .399 last year..) he would be better than pierre. Pierre has never reached .380 in his career. -

No thanks I'd rather keep Z or Prior. I really doubt the likes of Z or Prior will be discussed in that deal. And if the reds GM brings either of them up, I'd hope Hendry would laugh them off the phone.

Thats tough. I, like ND, wish i was born earlier. By the time I was old enough to realize just how good jordan was, It was 95/96 or so and He only had about two years left. But at the same time, A cubs WS...wow. Where is the "both" answer.... :x

As who promised? Some NSBB folks? Rhodes is a respectable arm that Philly needs. Michaels is a spare bench player. Rhodes, like all relievers, is inconsistant. Michaels is a spare bench player with a .380 career OBP. If the Cubs had a lineup full of "spare bench players," they'd have one of the better offenses in the league. Not a chance. If any lineup was full of .380+ OBP guys, it would probably be the best in baseball. If not the best, then really close. No way. Thats impossible. This is an internet messae board and anything said on here is false we dont know anything espn is god obp is meaningless. -
