  1. 1. Babe Ruth 2. Ty Cobb 3-infinity ?
  2. And pitch w/ a sub-4 era in the world series.
  3. It's better than a clean cut Neifi, that's for sure. thats very true.
  4. Actually, I think he got a fair ammount of love last year too. Maybe you're thinking of a different northsidebaseball?
  5. Dude needs a new razor. Either that or to shave more than once every 4 days.
  6. No, just 1B (and Util/inf of course)
  7. Your outfield is outstanding. However, as you said, your middle infield sucks. Try maybe trading some pitching strength for a middle infielder. ALso, check the Waiver list. Clint Barmes was outstanding last year before he got hurt, i wouldnt be surprised if he went undrafted. I picked him up in the 23rd round of a draft today.
  8. Its a fairly small league, only 10 teams, so that explains why my team is good, but I still think I drafted a very STACKED team. Take a look, tell me what you think: C- Jorge Posada 1B- Carlos Delgado 2B- Felipe Lopez 3B- Aram SS- Carlos Guillen INF- Melvin Mora OF- Brian Giles OF- Carlos Lee OF- Jeff Francouer UTIL- Wily Taveras UTIL- Jason Kendall BN- Brad Wilkerson BN- Clint Barmes BN- Chris Shelton BN- Prince Fielder SP- Johan Santana SP- Carlos Zambrano SP- Brandon Webb RP- Fransisco Cordero RP- Ryan Demptster P- Kerry Wood P- Chris Capuano P- Matt Clement BN- Kenny Rogers BN- Gustavo Chacin My pitching is loaded, so i'm not worried about that. My outfield has good power, as does my infield. I figure i'll get stolen bases out of Taveras, and if Barmes starts out like he did last year he'll be a starter. What do you guys think?
  9. Wow, dude has REALLY slimmed down... Look at these pictures side by side. Wow. http://ak.imgfarm.com/images/ap/CUBS_SPRING_BASEBALL.sff_AZNH109_20060216145455.jpg
  10. I will never forget when Z got Bonds to line out to him w/ the bases juiced. His reaction was classic, and i think that moment started my (totally healthy) man love for him. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/mlb/photo/photogallery/2003_2nd_half_moments/chc/03.jpg (not the bonds celebration, but still awesome) And I think Treeman is right, Z really needs to make the "Z" symbol in the air after every strikeout.
  11. Bump again? Does ESPN have FREE fantasy baseball. They had free fantasy football, so why not baseball. I have to be missing something.

    Those nicknames were so terrible
  13. i'd be happy if he never hit another hr ever.
  14. Exactly. Anyone ever heard of Ty Cobb? You know, First guy ever inducted into the hall of fame.... lets talk about some of the things he did: Spiked people One time, gashed the entire back of a mans leg open by spiking He SHARPENED his spikes as to have them inflict more damage He broke a womans (she was a member of his family) nose w/ a baseball bat Beat both of his wives Abandoned his children Claimed to kill (with the butt/scope of a gun) a man who tried to mug him, and from all accounts he's telling the truth Tried to kill a hotel manager when he was told to quiet down, others were sleeping. Carried a gun, and beleived it was his *right* to use it on anyone that pissed him off... The list goes on. And yet no ones arguing that he should be in the hall. Now obviously he's better than sammy. But at the same time No one argues that sammy's statistics make him a lock for the hall.
  15. Pitching is pretty weak all around, obviously being so huge. My biggest deficit is saves, that was bad planning on my part, by the time i decided to take a closer, there were no real closers left. Just sit on the news wire. improbable closers always pop up and you can pick them up for nothin' Thats pretty much what I'm hoping for.

    haha, that was terrible.
  17. Yea, i figured. But I did ESPN football and it wasnt too terrible. Mainly I just wanted some draft practice. So back to my question, are there any free espn leagues that i'm just missing?

  19. HE WAS ON STEROIDS!!!! Actually, I just think he lost alot of weight. He looks ready to kill someone.
  20. Where would you put Sandberg's? I vote we leave the current flags where they are. Put sammy's in place of the American flag. I'd pledge allegance to it. Dear NSA/FBI/CIA/DHS, just joking. Dont kill me.
  21. In 5 years, he'll be wearing a cubs hat anyways (in the hall). I just hope the Cubs can mend things w/ him so he can come back and have his number retired...
  22. Ok this thread is off topic. More pictures. More spring training awesomeness, NOW.
  23. I, personally think I made out like a bandit. Its a yahoo Public league, with TWENTY teams, and 30 player rosters. Its huge. And I still made out w/ a very nice team I think, But anyways, take a peek: PrinceFielderIsFat: C -J. Posada 1B -A. Dunn 2B -T. Walker 3B -A. Béltre SS -C. Barmes CI -L. Berkman MI -K. Matsui IF -J. Franco LF -M. Murton CF -B. Giles RF -J. Guillén OF -K. Johnson Util -J. Estrada Util -M. Scutaro Util -T. Wigginton Util -M. Redmond Util -O. Palmeiro Util -R. Andino SP -C. Zambrano SP -T. Hudson SP -M. Clement SP -C. Capuano SP -H. Ramírez RP -K. Farnsworth RP -J. Mesa RP -N. Cotts RP -G. Mota RP -R. Hill P -T. Stauffer BN -O. Dotel Not bad considering the league is 20 teams. How i made out with Z, Dunn, Hudson, Clement, Giles, AND Berkman in a league that big i'm not sure..
  24. Very true..so, why isnt wilsons number retired? I don't think Hack Wilson had a number. Oh, well in that case...
