    If i was ramirez I would totally have some kind of under the table deal with hendry where the cubs would trade me to the angels for santana and whoever. And Then I would opt out of my contract this winter and sign w/ the cubs again. Just for kicks giggles and everything fun.

    That doesnt even make sense. The comparison isnt santana and Lee vs a FA pitcher and Ramirez. The comparison is Santana and Lee vs Lee, Ramirez, And a FA pitcher. Since when does keeping ramirez mean losing lee? Carlos Lee. Well, then why does keeping ramirez mean we cant sign Carlos lee AND a FA pitcher. We have woods contract coming off the books next year and we are a big market team. Money isnt our issue.

    Who are you being told this by? Just wondering, because to be honest idk whether to believe you or not. You've been her a year and a half and havent posted anything bogus yet. But im always skeptical of people who are "told" things.

    Im pretty sure teh "i'll have some speaks w/ the umpire" was directed towards the call that ended the bottom of the sixth (I think that was the inning) Ron Coomer was called out looking on an eye-level fastball. EDIT: Oh, and for clarification, that stupid umpire was Angel Hernandez.

    Basically when he was coming off the mound he took off his hat and tipped it to his left, then directl in front of him, then his right, put his hat back on, and waved to the crowd and said "thank you" or something along those lines as he went into the dugout.     Well, that is pretty depressing. A mid level prospect and pick up the rest of his salary? Might as well keep him if that is all he will fetch. No kidding. Thats pathetic.

    I admit, I did kinda get the idea that, that farewell today was a little more than the regular "hey i had a good game thanks for watching" type of wave. Looked like he knew something was up. It will be intresting to see if something is actually up or im just overanalyzing.

    Involving the cubs? We've all speculated that Maddux might be on the move, or maybe walker. But it seems like we havent heard a single creadible rumor. The closest thing to one was the one where walker might have been traded to seattle within 48 hours. The deadline is drawing nearer and I havent heard much of anything. This time of year the transaction forum is supposed to be going insane. Has anyone heard anything? Also, what time is the actual deadline this year? 3PM Monday?
