  1. Effing Brendan Ryan just homered for the cardinals. Really. Mets up 5-4
  2. Holy hell at lee's slugging the last 10 days.
  3. On to the top of the 7th in New York. Mets up 5-3.
  4. On the bright side, mets just scored on an RBI single. 5-3 Mets.
  5. Man up? Really? There are lots and lots of situations where I'd be just find with walking Pujols. Not as much as I would have bonds a few years ago, but as others have said, it's quickly approaching that.
  6. They both got cheered extensively.
  7. This guy is seemingly trying to dish fast balls down the middle as much as possible so I can see why Kosuke went after the first pitch like he did. Oh, I'm not slighting him for swinging. I'm just saying it's just our luck.
  8. You clearly forget the days of Lenny Harris, Jose Macias, Neifi Perez, Damien Jackson, Rey Ordonez, and the like.
  9. Huh? Fuku does not hit left handed pitching better than Reed. I meant that Fukudome hits lefties better than he hits righties. At least that was the case last year... I haven't looked at the splits for 09. It's kind of a mixed bag this year: Vs. Righties he's .275/.399/.421/.820 Vs. Lefties he's .182/.357/.545/.903 Hits for a higher average and gets on base more v/ righties. But he hits for more power against lefties. Go figure.
  10. That lineup is....meh. Okay I suppose. Glad to see miles excluded, at least. Fox playing the outfield would/could/will be a nightmare however.
  11. That article was nowhere near as funny as the author apparently thought it was.
  12. Yeah, getting mad at someone for not having a solid grip of english is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. By most accounts I've heard, english is one of the most complicated languages on the planet to learn. Having to do in no small part with the fact that in the english language there are so many "rules" that only apply part of the time. Besides, not everyone has the ability to just up and drop a thick accent. Case in point: My best friend growing up's father was from Puerto Rico. He's been here for probably 25 or 30 years now and his english still sounds like Ozzie's. And it has nothing to do with him not being an intelligent man, apparently that's just a hard accent for him to drop. Besides, there's a good chance people see that as part of their culture/heritage/whatever you want to call it. There are plenty of reasons to hate on Ozzie - God knows he gives you plenty of material - but knocking him for his choppy english is absolutely ridiculous. /mini-rant.
