    10M's probably a little high for first year arb. I was thinking more 8.5M or so but that's really picking nits. I think the Brewers would be wise to lock him up through arb right now. Maybe pay him some more next year, so as to not have all their players making huge salary jumps at the same time. That is becoming more of the norm for players of his caliber. Ryan Howard is arby elgible after this year. That should give Fielder/Brewers a pretty good indication of whats out there. Pujols signed a 7 year $100M contract in his first year of arbitration. $15M per year. These 2 guys arent in his league but its pretty close. The deal Pujols signed a couple years ago looks great for the cards

    2008 is the last year the Brewers get Fielder cheap. 2009 its going to be $10M+.
