I'll agree with others, this field isnt as good as last year. Illini, UNC, UK, MSU, Wisc, Arizona, Wash are all worse. Only a few are better like Nova, UCLA and Texas. Also this year im not going to be as hopeful for the mid majors doing well as i have been in the past. They got a lot of teams in this tourney that just dont belong. In years past they go into the tourney without any pressure to succeed, this year they will have bullseyes on their back. Im hoping they get there doors blown off.

This is what happens so often on boards like these. To my recollection, Hendry never said nor was quoted as saying that Hill or Pie were "untradeable" as you are now claiming. What did happen was that he was consistently turning down offers that were including them. There is a huge difference. We don't know who was included in those offers. If the trades that Hendry was turning down were for people like Pierre, Huff, Lugo, etc., then I have no problem with Hendry not trading away Hill and Pie for guys like that. If someone can find me the quote where Hendry said he wouldn't trade Pie or Hill for anyone, then I will happily take it all back and eat my helping of crow. It wouldn't be the first time I was mistaken. But I seriously doubt he ever said that. I dont think i would be the first to claim this. I remember hearing Hendry on the radio tallking about the winter meetings a while back and he said something to the effect of 'every deal starts with hill and pie and those dont go much further'. Now my recollection to that radio interview awhile back could be a bit shady and he probably never used the word 'untradeable' but the dude clearly made the perception they wouldnt be traded unless the deal was really good. To me when you say names publicly and express difficulty doing those deals involving players your are putting up a barrier to get deals done whether you use the word untradeable or not. If im the only one dreaming this happened, ill take it all back.

Ok Big Ten fans...one of the first thing i look at in the brackets are what are the Big Ten teams going to do? Im not as high on these guys as last year. I liked illini and i thought both MSU and Wiscy were underappreciated last year. Heres what i got for this year right now... Atlanta: Iowa=Sweet 16 losing to Texas. Iowa could be the surpise B10 team this year. They be playing well. Oakland: Indiana=loses to Gonzaga. DC: Illini: loses to Uconn in Sweet 16 MSU: The Big Ten wildcard. I got them losing to Carolina in the second round. If they win they will go to the 8 because that bottom bracket aint nuthin, thats what scares me about picking them to lose to UNC. Minneapolis: Wisc: Loses to Nova. Can they beat Nova? Doesnt Nova like to run with those 4 guards and go open style? You cant run on the badgers or go open. This could be another classic Badger tournament upset special. OSU: I got them in the final 4. Nothing in that bottom bracket scares me. What you guys thinking about the B10?

Guys, im really pissed of at Michigan basketall right now. This team should be in tournament but they played awful the last nine games. They had some really good wins but some really bad losses. I dont think they are going to get in and if they do i will be really thankful. If they dont make the tourney this year it will be by far the most disappointed ive been in this program ever. I liked it when Amaker came but he hasnt done anything to really impress me. If they dont make it, he should be fired.

To me this doesnt speak well for the Cubs organization. Hendy was saying Pie and Hill are untradable. Not saying Marshall hasnt made a huge leap but is he in that class now or has hill fallen? If the Cubs were walking around all throuhgout the winter valuing Hill so much or giving the illusion they did so if they did trade him the other side would say 'hey good deal we got an untradeable' that illusion is now blown. Im thinking too that if the scouts do like marshall more, its not because of the 2.1 innings its because of all the sessions he is throwing in spring training. A 26 year old in AAA who has MLB potential needs to be traded sooner than later if they think others like marshall are ahead of him. Lots teams would still be happy with a Hill in their rotation. At 27 or 28 its less enticing. Hill is probably also behind Guzman.

A tape of Harry Caray singing the stretch i think is a bad idea. I stand up and look who is singing it in the booth. If i hear a tape of Harry singing the stretch with 40,000 people and people just staring into space with a dead man singing gives me the willies. It sounds eerie to me. Are the Cubs winning or losing? Come late Aug/Sept. i could love Wrigley more because of the beers and good times rather than a frustrating Cubs team. At least the alcohol and fun times at Wrigley wont let me down like the Cubs ya know. Tis better to enjoy the suds at Wrigley in late Aug than a poor Cubs team. Woodson would be great in this cover 2. Plays physical and is a great tackler for a CB, two things this cover 2 likes. Can do the exact things Ronde Barber does in Tampa and is great in the CB blitz. Yeah. Not that long to get in. Once you are in the thing takes forever for the transaction to go through. For 7/8 every section was still available but i needed 4 tickets and they didnt have 4 together. So i got tickets for sundays game, best they had was 4 in the UD.
