  1. For a true sophmore Quinn was pretty good last year. Go look at Jamarcus Russells number this year (hes a red shirt sophmore) they are compareble and Quinn was a year younger at that time he put up those numbers. Both came out of HS equally regarded. I say Ty did pretty well with him or les miles must suck too.
  2. So the Cubs had the best back to back teams ever. Too bad no one is alive to tell the story. 9 of the 10 teams are pre 1940 except for the yankees. Thats impressive for them. They were best team i ever saw.
  3. He won't be. And yeah, I did mean Pope. Davis is a notch above both. Then Pope, then Marcedes. Sorry, Rais. Any chance Marcus McNeil slips to 26? Doubtful. If so, though, I'd gladly pick him then go TE in round 2 or 3. Whitworth (LSU) may be an OT in the 2nd. Lutui could be there in the 2nd also at OG. Heh, we're gonna have to disagree on Marcedes and Pope. His blocking isn't as good as Pope's but his receiving ability is further along and I think he has a higher ceiling than Pope. His frame and 6'6" size and good hands would be great for Rex. McNeil would be nice, I'd take him over Marcedes and Pope. I have seen him mostly in the 15-20 range so far, but that's not much to slip down to the Bears spot. I would LOVE Lutui in the 2nd round. Lutui is a frickn road grader.
  4. I like Pope. For a DB i like Youboty from OSU. He's fast and has good size at 6'1. Hes a great tackler for a DB something these cover 2 guys like. He can play close to the line too. Kinda like marlin jackson last year who indy drafted. Charles Woodson will be FA. He's had some injury problems and might not be too expensive. He's still only 29. If he's not too much go for it. I dont want the bears paying shut down corner money. He's another physical DB that tackles great. Fill out the RFA paperwork properly and dont do another Holdman.
  5. I don't agree with that. You are basically saying the Bears need a short, quick WR. I personally like the big bodies. Wish they used their size better. But there aren't a lot of Steve Smith, Santana Moss type WRs. I think it is a different style of WR, they're out there. I like Santana's younger brother as far as being a potential smaller quick type WR. Bigger bodies like Gage are great, if you know how to use them. Moose knows how to use his body and great route running, players like Berrian and Bradley have great speed, but lack quickness. I want a WR with quickness. Ok, I see what you are saying. If Bobby Wade could catch, or run routes, he would have been a good guy in the WR corps. I wanted Bradley's OU teammate in the draft (can't remember his name now). He fit the description you are speaking of. Those types of guys seem to work well for New England. Givens/Branch/Brown and before this year David Patten. Givens is a UFA.
  6. But at least Morrisey put the blame on the defense where it belonged, Downey inexplicably blames it on Rex! Come on! The Bears season is over because Steve Smith ripped up our D. wtf, did he stop watching after the 1st quarter? So how bad was Peyton Manning today then, Jonathon Quinn bad? Funny, Grossman's offense scored more points than Mannings today against just as good defense if not better.
  7. Yeah i agree, but i wouldnt call it 'beating' or blowing by the cbs. If Smiths is as good as just barely touching those guys and beating them, then he truly is frickn unbelievable. If Tillman and Thompson are truly that bad it would have happened more this year. Ok it happend to Tillman against Roy Williams early in the year but thats it.
  8. Good God. The Bears lost, its not like they got to shake everything up. First i read 'the cover 2 has got to go'. Uh huh its totally sucked all year for the Bears. Its won 2 Super Bowls for 2 different teams. Yup blow it up. Mike Brown cant stay healthy enough or somthing like he should be playing so we need a new safety. Remember when he had the injury it was 'season ending'. Oh he also a pro bowler but we Bear fans are the only ones that realize he aint that good or shoulg be better. Anyway sorry for the rant. Frickn Steve Smith was the difference in this game. Tillman and Thompson fell down on 'the' only Tds. They got a fair amount of yards but its not like they had long drives to score a TD. Frickn 2 plays. Steelers had longer more sustaible drives than the Panthers did today people. You dont lose a game because of field goals. Rex started real slow but the dude is Qb. He's got great presence in the pocker and has mobility, well better than i thought. And he had some great hookups to Berrian. Berrian is better than i ever thought, he's not just fast, hes a good football player. Him Moose and Bradley are a good 3some. Needs: TE-Pope please. CB (you just can have too many of these)
  9. Whoa. Pinball.
  10. yeah frickn pick 6. ok listless....yeah thats the seahawks. fortunately for them they have the fans who have good energy and spirit, maybe it will rub off on them.
  11. I need to look that up. whats listless.
  12. Its starting to look like the team who scores 10 points first will win. Both these offenses look sad.
  13. Gamble please. That dude is a risk taker that is suseptible to the long ball. I hope he gets stuck on Berrien because he will burn him deep. He was overrated in college and still is.
  14. Good one. At same age he's got better numbers than ronny, both struck out a lot in A ball. Spears needs to improve his k ratio like ronny did.
  15. MSU got smoked. They hardly ever lose this bad.
  16. This is why i wanted the bears to play the giants. Eli would be an INT machine against the Bears.
  17. Probably why he tried strong arming him into staying at the jets when he became the GM. Patriots have really turned it around this year.

  19. True and they will be pretty tough in the Big 10 too. Check the RPI, baby! You guys don't have the good ole boys to protect you like you do in football....basketball actually has a playoff. We very well may have the entire Final Four this year! Last year with the "down" B10 accounting for half the Final Four and 3 of the Elite 8. The tourney is where we shine. So how many Championships has the Big 10 won in the last 10 or 15 years? One decent year and you guys get a big head! Michigan State went to the final 4 three years in a row and wont the whole damn thing in what '00 or '01. IU has gone to the finals. Illini has gone to the finals. Thats three teams in the last 6 years goin to the finals. Wisky to the final four in the same period.
  20. 2001 - 5th pick (Tomlinson), a 2nd round pick (Reche Caldwell), and Tim Dwight (worked out pretty darn well, I think) 2004 - 4th pick (Rivers), a 3rd round pick (Nate Kaeding), Giants' 1st and 5th rounders in 2005 (TBD, I think) Interesting note: both trades involved former Hawkeyes. Giants first round pick last year was #12. They selected Shawn Merriman. Not bad.
  21. I dont see SC blowin Texas out like they did oklahoma. Ill be pullin for Texas because well, i dont root for Pac Ten teams in the Rose Bowl (unless they are playing OSU) so why change now. And since this is the Rose Bowl what would that be without a good ribbing of a Pac-10 team? Not taking anything away from SC, probably the best teams ive ever seen, but you will never see a Big Ten team, SEC or now ACC team win 34 games in a row. :P
  22. They might fall to #4 with OSU at #3. After that everyone lost until to you get to #10 V tech.
  23. Whoa here comes the kicker. When he makes it, do you celebrate or breath a sigh of relief
  24. why the hell did fsu call timeout now
