  1. Any pics of Williams. How fat is he?
  2. Im starting to get the feeling the B10 is going to suck in the tourney this year. I have a lot less confidence in these teams than last year. Michigan needs to win this game tonight. They are pissing away their tourney birth.
  3. I love curling too, its great. It looks like such a silly sport but its cool to watch. If i could find a place to play this game, id be all over it. How did the americans blow that game, damn them!
  4. This week sure didnt help the big tens cause in disproving the 'mediocrity' label. Big wins by Northwestern, Minnesota and Purdue against the top tier teams was pathetic. Michigan is crapping the bed.
  5. Hmm lets see. Cincinnatti, this would legitimize their football program immediatly and that would make it more difficult for OSU to horde all that HS football talent in the state of Ohio. Thats a good thing. Does the basketball program make up for the football program, probably not since Huggins is gone, dont really know what you are getting. Im voting Syracuse. Great basketball program and the NY tv market it attractive. Nice academics. Big Ten was interested in BC because of their TV market but they are gone. Id like to have Syracuse. Im not crazy about Pitt or WV.
  6. MSU with 3 of the top 5 points leaders in the big ten. Ager, Brown and Davis. Pretty amazing.
  7. so? does that mean he shouldn't be able to recruit anyone good ever? i mean, how is illinois going to improve if they don't get the recruits? i could ask you why weber didn't get scheyer, wright, rush, or collins after sending a team to the championship game, in which they narrowly lost--not to mention turning deron williams into a top 3 draft pick and sending luther head to the rockets in the first round as well. i think you just hate the illini for whatever reason. maybe it's their recent dominance over MSU, maybe it's their perrenial dominance over mizzou, i don't know. I disagree that he must hate the Illini. I was asking myself the same questions. Zook must be a great recruiter to get anyone of note to come to Illinois. At this point, they are one of the worst programs the Big Ten and nationally speaking are an afterthought. Zook is doing a fantastic recruiting job and I wonder what he is saying to these guys to keep them from going to competitive schools with better tradition. "If you want to play in the Big Ten come here, we're so bad you could probaby start at the _____ position next year."
  8. Yeah just by glancing at ESPN Illinois looks to have done a better job this year.
  9. Illinois might be down nationally, but in the Big Ten they could do just fine. I always think of teams in respect of their competition, and the Big Ten could change a bunch next year. Off the top of my head, some key potential losses (not sure on all of them): Michigan: Horton, Brown, Abraham MSU: Ager, Davis. Trannon? Iowa: Horner, Brunner Indiana: Killingsworth (only year of elgibility?), OSU: Dials, Sylvester Michigan: Abrahm will be back. He's good when he can stay healthy but the dude is injured all the time and for long stints. Horton will be missed. Hunter is also gone. Michigan is in the top 20 for the first time since 98. Good lord.
  10. Minor Leagues. Thats why i joined this site. This time of year social.
  11. Im good with a a guy who is tools oriented to be the director of scouting. I like for the system to lean tools oriented and the front office to be more stat oriented. "Traditional" scouts i believe are better judges of younger talent that stat oriented dudes are. I want upside in the draft and stats dont really tell that story. The front office should lean a little more stat oriented since the players (free agents and mlb players in trades) are older and have more 'data' available. This dudes resume sounds good.
  12. Michigan about wraps up a NCAA tournament berth with this win over Wisconsin. They didnt have any big wins until the last 2 at home vs MSU and then Wisonsin. I was very surprised how they handled the badgers today. Abraham, if that dude could only staty healthy.
  13. yeah and how do they figure cedeno/walker/neifi are going to get 1200 PA. Guess Hairston is getting 0 PA at 2nd.
  14. What?! God just isn't that kind to Cubs. Williams may be fat but his ERA wont be that fat if he is a starter. I dont have any beefs with the others.
  15. Even though im a Bud man Ill root for this Miller guy. 8) I like this signing.....alot. I dont know what the hell they are going to do with all these pitchers but i like it. That Jim Hendry sure likes busted arms guys.
  16. I commented to my wife how awful they are when i saw that. That dude probably smokes a pack day. You think with all that money hed buy himself a new set of teeth. Doesnt he look in the mirror.
  17. If the steelers scoer a TD here can we punch their ticket to the super bowl? Im going to go with Seattle. They havent been before and i want carolina to lose sooner than later so i can see if these rumors Trgovac going to Michigan are true or not. What rumors? UM's too stupid to fire Lloyd Carr so I wouldn't think that'll happen. That said, I am now officially worried that we'll lose Trgo. He's a dynamite coordinator. Why can't he be like Monte Kiffin and just reject all overtures? They are too stupid. Some think he may come into Ann Arbor and be the def coordinator for a year and lloyd retires after 06. Herrmann the def coordinator might go to Dallas as the LB coach, so there are some things happening. As the rumor goes he has talked to Michigan and carolina let him. who knows, like i said rumors. Trgovac went to michigan and played for and coached for bo, so he is a michigan man.
  18. Man steelers are looking real good.
  19. If the steelers scoer a TD here can we punch their ticket to the super bowl? Im going to go with Seattle. They havent been before and i want carolina to lose sooner than later so i can see if these rumors Trgovac going to Michigan are true or not.
  20. I dont think they stop the clock on first downs because they are playing NFL rules. Fred Rouse, good lord, this dude was a 5 star WR. He seems like a baby TO to me, they've had trouble with him before this. The Wolverines landed the #1 FB in the nation and a lot of southern schools including Tennessee was all over him...wooohoo. Too bad this is the least important position in football, hahaha.
  21. Keep it. I need a reason to go to that dump town Detroit (nice stadium though). I dont think the Cubs have ever played there at Comerica. The place would most assuradly sell out because of all the Cubs fans, so that would be sweet. This year will be the second time they play the tigers at Wrigley. That pisses me off.
  22. Well that could be.......interesting. You haven't heard it yourself, so is this coming from another message board? Yeah a bears forum at footballsfuture. More than one guy is saying they heard this.
  23. I havent heard it myself but its been reported on espn radio that jerry angelo is meeting with TO.
  24. Some dude at footballsfuture: "At 223 lbs, with excellent speed, Archuleta was at his best in Lovie Smith's scheme, focusing more on attacking the ball, and less on maintaining his positioning. Under new Def Coordinator Joe Vitt, more focus was put on the zone, and Archuleta was left in open space while less talented players attempted to make plays across the field. I like Chicago as a sleeper to get Archuleta at a slight discount. When Mike Brown and Chris Harris went down late in the year, backups Mike Green and Todd Johnson were exposed for their limitations. While Harris was a revelation as a rookie, the chance to upgrade with Archuleta would be too much to pass up. A former Lovie Smith disciple, Archuleta is a smaller version of Urlacher who would team with the Defensive Player of the Year to send more than one ball carrier to the IR next season." Harris as a nickelback?
  25. Trib says the Bears probably have $17M in cap space. Last year Jason Campbell the 25th pick had a signing bonus of $5.3M. So i assume (im not a cap expert) the Bears have about $10-$11 to spend on extensions (briggs) and FA's.
