  1. Again, why do you think something would have to go wrong? Unless you think he's way more advanced than I do.
  2. Small sample for the increased K rate. Look, I like Porcello, but I still wouldn't trade him for Garza straight up. I think Theo and Jed can do better.
  3. What am I missing that you guys like about Rick Porcello so much?
  4. Is the Southern League a better pitcher's league than the FSL? I always thought nothing came close to the FSL in terms of favoring pitchers.
  5. Certainly not Tennessee. I'd guess Daytona with a better chance at Kane County than Tennessee. I was thinking his age would be a factor. I can't see him at Kane County at 23, unless they just want to keep a closer eye on him for some reason.
  6. Where do you guys think they'll send Paniagua after he gets acclimated? Daytona or Tenn?
  7. Garza for Porcello straight up? Are you [expletive] kidding me? I'd rather do Garza/Vogelbach for Castellanos. Throw in another guy outside the top 15 if they want him.
  8. We'll see what Soler does in August and in the fall league. Right now, I still say no.
  9. Who is this Cub insider? Mooney? Anyway, like others have said, 2016 would be late. 2014 would be crazy quick. I don't think opening day 3B or RF in 2016 would be late at all, considering best case scenario is the middle of 2015. Unless they think he's capable of starting next year in Tenn, which would shock me.
  10. Had to happen sooner or later. His peripherals have been good all year.
  11. 2016 would be a bit late, but 2014 is super optimistic. Not impossible, but it would require him absolutely nuts mashing every level. So, 2015 is what you're saying? :-) Sometime in June 2015 would be the absolute best case scenario. Next year rake in Daytona in the first half and Tenn in the 2nd half, rake in Iowa the first part of 2015.
  12. The kid is absurd. If they had a team in the Carolina League I would want him bumped up immediately.
  13. Samardzija was having an excellent year before they traded his boyfriend. *rimshot*
  14. which led to mccarthy and a bunch of his twitter followers making a series of jokes ridiculing mitch williams. http://deadspin.com/brandon-mccarthy-does-not-take-kindly-to-mitch-williams-742712820 I love the Jurassic Park one.
  15. Signatures don't need to be legible, they just need to be awesome.
  16. He'll work out for awhile in AZ. Probably start playing games for Boise in around 2 weeks.
  17. Guess I haven't been paying attention to Torrez. He's dealing.
  18. According to DRS, Wellington Castillo has been the best defensive catcher in baseball. He leads with 11. Anyone know how the hell that's happened?
  19. Seriously? That was never going to happen. At least for A-Rod. Braun was a pipe dream, I admit.
  20. I really hope he pulls this clownery in a close, late innings situation and somehow a drop/error ensues and costs them the game. Stop hating fun. If that did happen though, it would be hilarious.
