  1. Probably because in the minors, most pitchers suck at holding baserunners and most catchers suck at throwing. That's the only thing I can think of, anyway.
  2. Then prepare yourself. http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/face-slap.gif
  3. Rizzo is pretty athletic even if he is kind of slow. I'm sure he could handle LF.
  4. No trading Rizzo. Just stick him in LF and hope he's not Adam Dunn.
  5. Yeah, after Cespedes and Puig, I just say [expletive] it and give him whatever he wants.
  6. Corey Black pitching pretty well against his former team so far. 4 scoreless with 3 K and 2 BB.
  7. I'd consider going with Bowden Fan, because Rondon is going to have to say on the roster the rest of the year.
  8. Seems like Bryant should have at least five more homers.
  9. Arguello saw Maples a few times at KC and said he was 91-96 with a plus curve. If he's trusting his improved mechanics and the control continues, his stuff will play at A+.
  10. If his new found control is for real, I see no reason why he couldn't handle Daytona. I'm also factoring that's he's going to be 22 for the majority of next year.
  11. Yeah, Maples is finally awesome. I hoping this can continue and he can start next year in Daytona.
  12. I don't even like Olt that much, but unless Vitters magically learns to play 3B, then no.
  13. I probably would have taken that before the season.
  14. I'm still kind of skeptical of a relief pitcher in his late 30's coming off TJ.

  17. He would have if the Tribune still owned the team. The difference was less than 3 million bucks, the hesitancy was far more on the "will Wieters sign at all" or "is Wieters worth his asking price" and not "will ownership be okay with this contract". Remember, this was the June after they went nuts in free agency, money wasn't exactly scarce. Hmm, I thought I had read something to the contrary. Something about Wilken really wanting him but not getting the OK.
  18. He would have if the Tribune still owned the team.
  19. Edwards just gave up his first pro homer. 4/1 K/BB through two innings, though.
  20. The worse offender ever was Jim Edmonds. I've never seen a guy bitch at the umpires more than him. Thanks for '08, though, buddy.
  21. According to weather.com there's no chance of rain for the rest of the day.
  22. Yeah, but a month ago he had no idea where the plate was and now he's had at least a few starts in a row where he's not walking much of anybody. I feel like drastic improvement like that is worth keeping an eye on, particularly when you have the type of coaching/player development we seem to now. Exactly this.
  23. Bryant's wOBA is .438, and that's with the platinum sombrero debut.
  24. Eh. Edwards is probably the only one that matters. Maybe a month ago, but Maples has been owning lately. 18 IP, 15 H, 2 ER, 16/6 K/BB, 2.40 GO/AO
