  1. The alternatives have combined for about a .550 OPS so far, so probably a little further or until someone else starts hitting. I know the rest of them suck too...but getting picked off three times in the first 15 games is just maddening. Javy will be up in June and Boner won't be an every day player.
  2. How far does his batting average have to dip before he plays less?

  4. Yeah, last year I listened a lot and it was obnoxious. I don't think it's bad at all. Then again I hate You can put it on the booooarararararrrrrrd, YES! Guess I'm just a Cubs homer. But I really think I'd still hate that call even if it was for Cubs players or prospects. This is unsurprising news.

  6. Wellington's homer was probably part of a called hit and run

  8. Honestly, how long can this Veras thing go on?
  9. This is ridiculous and expected.
  10. Playing competitively in individual games and competing for a World Series title aren't quite the same thing. Really?? Tell me more. Just because they aren't being blown out of games doesn't mean they are going to be contenders for a division or world series title. Sure they have been in most of the games so far, but we are only 9 games into the season. I guess it depends on your definition of competing. I think the Cubs can potentially field a respectable team next year, but not a team that will compete for a championship quite yet. We can compete for a wild card next year...and once you're in the playoffs, well, you know... Obviously we have a small sample size this year...but I like the core of Rizzo-Castro-Baez-Bryant-Olt-Castillo-Shark-Wood-Jackson enough to think a Wild Card is well within reach.

  12. Or if he keeps pitching like this, let's trade him while he is in his prime and his value is at an all-time high. It really depends on when the Front Office thinks we can contend. If it's in the next 2 years after this, keep him. If it's anything past that, he needs to be traded. There's no reason we can't compete next year...we're competing fine this year. Trading Shark is counter-productive.
  13. Let's not trade Shark...I mean, seriously, he is just what we'd be hoping the returning prospects become.
  14. LOVE TO SEE THE CARDINALS DOING CUB STUFF
  15. Honestly, we should have just hired Sandberg if this is what we're going to get...
  16. The "get out of my yard" thing needs to stop.
  17. Jordan retires, Bulls become even more gelled.
  18. Really? I know the Reds lost a couple of key players, but that staff is still elite, and the Pirates got better. Don't forget your Central Div. leading Brewers! It looks to me that the Cubs are actually a solid ball club, and if in ANY other division would be a serious contender. If only the Cubs could play in the pathetic AL East...
