  1. Would much rather that game be played at LSU and not in Oxford. Ole Miss hasn't lost by more than 6 points in Baton Rogue since 1995. All of our beatdowns by LSU have happened in Oxford. Well, that's dumb.
  2. When the gameday thread is at 1 page at 11:00 pm, I know Javy went 0-4.

In like two years he'll be somebody else's Ian Stewart. http://i42.tinypic.com/2lmrifp.jpg
  4. Mike Olt is hitting .120 as a Cub...with 23 Ks. I think it is time to stop thinking about him in our top 10.
  5. Daytona is the lowest possible level I see Bryant starting at next year...I really don't think Tennessee is an outrageous possibility.
  6. Thanks everyone...all this info is extremely helpful.
  7. The title of the article is an immediate fail. Why would the most exciting sport on the planet need to be fixed?
  8. So, could someone explain to me professional international soccer in a nutshell? I want to get into it, but I have no clue about which leagues matter, how players are sold, etc.
  9. I was thinking Cutler would play all four quarters.
  10. Guys, he has an Aggie ring and everything...back off. And, please follow board rules...no personal attacks.
  11. We hope. I'm waiting for the day that everyone is pissed that the Cubs traded away the #1 and #3 prospect for an expensive past 30 player who will be "the guy" to get them deep into the playoffs. Can't wait, actually. It means that they will actually be good. Did B2B steal your account. Because unless we're trading for Harper or Trout, your scenario has about the same chance of happening as Theo quitting and Hendry taking back over. they can't wait to develop 9 position players and 5 starting pitchers all in their prime at the same time. It's a childish dream. EDIT: There's no sin in selling high in a futures market. Is this really what you think they are doing? Do you really think they will trade 1 and3 for a past his prime 30+ yr old? Really?
  12. I'm actually quite happy with where the Cubs are headed. We've been much more watchable this year, the farm system has done a massive turnaround and we're not locked into awful long term deals we would have regretted in short order. I've yet to hear one plan for last year that would have helped enough in the short term to overcome the long term damage. And in the irony of all ironies, the one guy who is really trumpeting this whole "we should have gone for it" thought says it's a "frustratingly pointless endeavor" to actually think of a plan that would have worked. Enjoy the ride...it's actually fun to be a part of a franchise with a plan and a bright long-term future.
  13. Everyone around here is saying the Cubs are good.
  14. jonmdavis returns just to post an expletive-laden tirade about how much he hates b2b's face Jon ain't comin' back from where he went, friend.
  15. A year from now, this will be cited as another "failure" by Jed and Theo.
  16. I was really hoping that De Paula would somehow fall into our lap. Chris Cotillo shouldn't be up this late.
  17. layoutman just earned himself a chapter in the book.
  18. According to ABTY, the hold up on this deal is the Cubs' concern over Lou Gehrig's medicals.
  19. Good riddance to Aramis...lazy, non-bunting waste of talent.
  20. Bravo bhogg! Most of the posters here have no clue who those guys were but you forgot a couple more busts.. Eric Duncan and David Parrish should slot right between Taylor and Kevin "no" Maas. Actually, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of the posters here know who Brien Taylor and Kevin Maas are...this isn't PSD.
  21. Just heard Jed's comments on the Score...he says these reports are entirely overblown and there is no deal close. Acknowledged that they have talked to several teams about Soriano.
  22. Are we still confident that the US will beat Honduras? I'm ready to go ahead and buy these tickets, but I still have that lingering fear that we will be watching a final that doesn't include the US.
  23. No, they won't. That would be dumb. Any of these deals would be better than the comp pick. Yes, they will and they'll resign him. You sure don't think much of Jed and Theo. ? A) They will make a deal...as David said, all of these deals have been better than the pick. The odds of that pick, statistically speaking, of amounting to anything are minute. B) Do you honestly think Jed and Theo are going to sign an injury-prone, 31-year old Matt Garza to a 4 year, 60+ million dollar deal? Because he is going to get at least that (probably more like 5 yrs, 80 mil) and there is little chance he stays effective and healthy for four years.
