  1. If they end up with only one loss (that isn't FSU), that means they have a win over #1 FSU in Tallahassee. Hard to see them not getting into the playoff with that resume.
  2. 21 points in the Eagles-Redskins game and the Eagles offense hasn't stepped on the field yet.
  3. That Ditka/Rauner commercial was really something.
  4. Is Notre Dame good? Is Michigan bad? Is this an aberration?
  5. But he's the adopted brown kid and biff can make the same mistakes without getting yelled at. That's because he's Biff. He's not our kid. And if he was, he doesn't have the potential Starlin has. I think in the analogy they are both our kids.
  6. Well he backed off hard after realizing what he said. Did I miss a tweet? Last thing he posted is that Starlin plays hard but the mental gaffes are a problem. That's not backing off hard IMO. Well you are bad at twitter then. He's called it a moot point given his total value. Ok
  7. Well he backed off hard after realizing what he said. Did I miss a tweet? Last thing he posted is that Starlin plays hard but the mental gaffes are a problem. That's not backing off hard IMO. You don't think that's backing off given his earlier Tweets? Like I said, I may have missed tweets. First I saw was "look, I like Starlin..."

  9. Len is not a meatball at all. And it is fine to call out Castro for making a mistake if the coverage is the same for all players making repeated mental errors. That's the problem. Len and JD have called out other mental errors. Len is saying Starlin has them more frequently and if anyone would know, I think it would be Len. Again, Kaplan's reaction is overboard but he is an idiot so we can disregard what he says. Len is not an idiot so I'm inclined to listen.
  10. Bad News: Wittenmyer is still a massive [expletive]. Ya Wittenmyer sucks. He's better than Kap though
  11. Do you guys really believe he watched the ball tonight because of the events of last week? I agree that some grace can be extended in terms of piling on, but I don't really give him a pass on the mental mistake. Kaplan is an ass, but I don't find much fault in what Len said and I think he has the credibility to say it...he's never struck me as a meatball.
  12. Len is a smart guy and has seen more Castro ABs than any of us. Could he possibly be right and our narrative be a bit off?
  13. Apples and oranges I guess, but doesn't Cutler have an equally ridiculous reputation with most of the idiots in this town? Not sure I buy the narrative that this is somehow racist.
  14. No, he's had a couple of genuinely bad mistakes that have been blown to be "recurring issues" when 9 times out of 10 it's him doing something every other player will do. He [expletive] up bad tonight (watching the hit, but also stupidly charging that Hamilton grounder), but he gets a ton of [expletive] for things that should be complete non-stories and are non-stories with players like Rizzo. Len has seen a lot of Cubs' baseball and he seemed to be pretty exasperated with the recurring issues with Castro. I'm not listening that closely, but Len seems like a pretty smart, fair guy who has seen every at-bat of Starlin's career.
  15. He crushed a ball to center, but got under it just a tiny bit and it went off the wall. It was only a single because he stood there admiring it instead of running. Why did Baez not score? Looked like it would be caught.
  16. He stared down a ball he hit off the wall, jogged to first, and ended up with a single.
  17. Cole Hamels, your table is ready.
  18. Certainly. They just weren't as noteworthy. Has there ever been another noteworthy golfer who has had as many injuries as Tiger Woods? Would dying from cancer count? Would dying in a plane crash count?
  19. I'll jump on the lurker love train as well. I've been reading the boards here as a guest for probably 8 years or so, but only recently signed up for a profile to make keeping up with posts easier. It's only been in the past few years that I wasn't intimidated by all of the SABR voodoo, but still don't know how much I'd be able to contribute to the conversations without showing my ignorance. And you should be nervous David...I can only imagine there are dozens of people like me who have been reading your posts for years from the shadows of NSBB. Kind of creepy if you think about it. *Slips silently back into a dark corner of the room* http://s27.postimg.org/u6j4m5teb/10yevme.jpg
  20. Favre looks pretty old.
  21. I'll raise you CF Coghlan/Ruggiano (until one or both turn into pumpkins) SS Castro LF Bryant 1B Rizzo LF Soler 2B Al Contra 3B Baez C Castillo (or as Javy will call him, the guy who bats before the pitcher) Rotation: 1. Arrieta 2-5: whomever we pull off the scrap heap and turn into studs, trade them for younger versions of themselves, repeat process. And I'll up the ante... 2B- Russell SS- Castro CF- Trout RF- Stanton LF- Bryant 1B- Rizzo 3B- Baez C- Schwarber Pitchers---who cares, that lineup is going to score a billion runs
  22. Did we pass on him? I missed that article, I think. Yes. We obviously did, considering what he was dealt for. Without knowing what went on behind the scenes, it's unfair to say we "passed" on Afflalo.
