  1. IU fans and UI fans secretly love Purdue. What can I say? Someone has to love the ugly Purdue co-eds.
  2. Sounds like Adrian Peterson might be slowed on Sunday by an abdominal injury. Although if a fully shredded nee doesn't slow him down, I'm not awfully optimistic that an abdominal injury will factor too much into Sunday's outcome.
  3. Michael Barrett's punching bag signed with the Rangers.
  4. Agreed. Both fronts coming together nicely, I think. wapwapwapwapwapwap
  5. That's what I figured. And geez, who was the last OU quarterback to lose two home games in one season? That would be back in the John Blake era, when it was common for OU to use 4 QBs in a game. Danny Hope probably idolized that dude. Kirk Ferentz is confused.
  6. That was just a needless signing. If Cutler goes down the season is over, so don't bother wasting money on his backup. Instead of that money they spent on backup RB/QB it would have been nice to sign a legit OL. If the bears had Campbell when Cutler when down last year, I tend to think that they would have at least beat the Chiefs and probably even the Raiders the week before. Win those two games and the bears (I assume) make the playoffs at 10-6 and likely have a healthy Cutler for the playoffs. Remember how much better the offense looked when McCown was in as opposed to Hankie Pankie? So keep McCown. Campbell was still unnecessary. While it's up for debate, Campbell was/is supposed to be a significant upgrade. And while I do agree that OL was a bigger need this past offseason, the availability of quality lineman were in short supply, if I'm not mistaken. Would have been nice to pick Riley Reiff instead of a situational pass rusher that struggles to rush the passer.

  8. Can an iPhone fit into an otter's box?
  9. Could a team made up of Bears players on IR beat the active Bears? And I don't mean without their current injuries. http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/173/576/Wat8.jpg?1315930535
  10. It's easy to think that way. It seems like the roster is full of "team" players and Finley is a "me" player. He also drops a lot of balls and complains that they don't throw it to him enough. He also felt slighted in how he was treated (not alone in this one) as an injured player during the weeks leading to the SB. And, of course, he's the only guy on the team that Skip Bayless likes. This is mainly due to the fact that Finley doesn't like Rodgers and Bayless doesn't like Rodgers, because, you know, Rodgers treated Favre bad by being really good and quickly making Packers fans forget who Favre was and that wasn't very nice because Skip loves Favre and the Packers treated Favre so bad, and Favre is Skip's boy, and Rodgers did everything he could to avoid the Favre vs. Packers drama, but he probably should have just convinced McCarthy that he really should be the backup and Favre should be the starter, and they were just so mean to Favre, and if Rodgers just wasn't so good and didn't handle everything so well then it wouldn't have made Favre look so bad... Well, you get it. I've fully come to realize to realize that Bayless' only visible talent is being a meathead who stirs things up by saying outlandish things that generally go against the grain. I loved it last year when Mark Cuban eviscerated Bayless on ESPN and showed the many flaws of Skippy's arguments. I'm getting to the point where I'll only watch ESPN if there's a live event because otherwise it's pure proganda to drive ratings (sounds like a cable news channel that ryhmes with lox) instead of being a legitimate sports news source.
  11. His fear boner killed him. Full no-trade clause, right? #HendrySignings
  12. I wish he would have pulled the record of Super Bowl losers in playoff road games.
  13. And holy cow, realignment can get confusing.
  14. Sounds like the Big East as we know it is dead. The 7 catholic schools have decided to split and create their own conference. I see Xavier as an automatic choice and possibly St. Joseph's and Butler. St. Louis and Creighton are unlikely adds unless the new conference wants 12 or more teams split into east/west divisions. This is where it gets interesting- if the BE 7 don't add SLU and Dayton, look for the Missouri Valley to add those schools.
  15. Looking at the Giants schedule, I don't think they make the playoffs. Also, SF is not a lock in the West since the only road game the Seahawks have left is at Buffalo. When I do the playoff machine I have the Redskins winning the East and the Seahawks winning the West. Giants still play at BAL and at ATL. 49ers are at SEA and at NE. I think the seeds end up: 1 ATL 2 GB 3 SEA 4 WAS 5 SF 6 CHI Of course this could all just be wishful thinking on my part. I don't want to see the Giants in the playoffs. That is quite the meatgrinder as far as potential match-ups go. Seattle is a tough, tough place to play and as good as Wilson was in Chicago, he has played that much better at home. I don't think there is a great option for going on the road, whether that be SEA, SF, or VaGiants errr NYGiants. The only team that wouldn't be a nightmare matchup would be Washington which has a mediocre, at beast, defense (even though DeAngelo Hall picked off Cutler about 34 times two years ago) and has average receivers, allowing the Bears D to bring up the safeties to play in the box. Past couple of weeks have been really rough on the Bears playoff chances. I really hate sports sometimes.
  16. J'Marcus Webb ‏@jmarcuswebb JWebb Nation, When I run out for @mcdonalds near midnight in Vernon Hills----what do u think I order? ‏@NGustafson85 @jmarcuswebb I would say a SACK of chicken nuggets
  17. It's only a matter of time. If they would have just thought this way all along and not offered membership to any school with a football team, they could have kicked out the football teams, kept the Big East name and MSG for their conference tourney. Instead, they are probably going to have to go it alone without an auto bid to the NCAA tourney for a year or two and try to start a new conference. Bad planning. That being said, could be a very strong hoops league with like teams. Would be nice to get to 10 teams and play a home and home every year. That could be cool: Georgetown, Villanova, St. Johns, Providence, Seton Hall, DePaul, Marquette and then add Xavier, Butler, and St. Louis. All located in major metro areas in the East/Midwest. Cool idea. And Creighton. Please, Creighton. We have Doug McDermott!
  18. It looks like I'm going to be in Toronto for this game visiting family. Is there a way to watch the game online without having to pay for the Sunday Ticket? Or a good site that streams NFL games?
  19. Pat Forde ‏@YahooForde Yahoo! Sports exclusive: Bret Bielema leaving Wisconsin for Arkansas.http://yhoo.it/TDY9yU More to come wow. kinda speechless.
  20. I hate sports. Couldn't make a stop when it counted. Some 18 year old sophomore from Chicago scored 18 straight points for Boise. Yes, 18 straight points.
  21. How wide are the entrances to the Purdue football facilities? You've seen their co-eds, right?
  22. Name one. I could see how Mike Trout would have won the MVP if he played in New York vs. Anaheim based purely on market exposure. And you could also point to the Jeremy Lin non-stop coverage last year- I highly doubt that he would have received that type of attention if he was playing in Utah instead of the Knicks (I use Utah as an example because the Jazz and Knicks had similar finishes in their respective conferences last year). Having said that, I realize I'm comparing two different sports but could you imagine the hype that Russell Wilson would have if he was putting up the same numbers in New York/Philly/etc. as opposed to Seattle? I mean, 17 TD's, 8 INT's, 93 QB Rating, and several high-profile comebacks is awfully impressive for a rookie QB. Not to mention how well-liked is he by the media (and we see it first hand how much the media plays into a players perception on a national stage).
