  1. Really good crowd last night - probably the best crowd since the Peralta game last month. Going again Saturday, I have a feeling that's also going to be an electric atmosphere.
  2. Yeah, that's not what rape is about. Oh, it's smart? Don't be dense. What's wrong about saying if he raped someone it's stupid? Throwing your life away is stupid. Especially for a guy that has a hell of a lot to lose and pretty much hit the jackpot in life. Hopefully this is a money grab. The alternative being that one of our favorite athletes is a terrible person. You still don't get the point. I think Brandon is saying that rape isn't about smart vs. dumb, but rather the attacker's entitlement and objectification of women. We all know that Kane has plenty of women that throw themselves at him.
  3. giants have a very well-run organization, but panik's minor league numbers don't scream 4+ WAR player in his first full season
  4. Grichuk is the most cardinals player ever his peripherals are basically the same from his 2014 season in which he went .245/.278/.400 difference? .386 BABIP and 18.1 % HR/FB. His ISO in the minors was never greater than .234 (above rookie ball) and of course in 2015, it's .289 oh, don't forget that his K rate is 30.4% someone grab me a windex colada
  5. the giants are starting to become a pseudo cardinals with their out of the butt performances from guys like panik, duffy, ishikawa in last year's playoffs, and whatever a chris heston is.
  6. uh.... the bears?
  7. I think you're correct that the bears talent and much-improved coaching increases the floor to 6 wins, but the greatest concern is the lack of depth up and down the roster. QB, RB, OL, WR are of great concern with respect to depth and we already know how potentially fragile the defense is, front-line talent and depth, respectively. You can always point to how injuries can derail a season, but as much i hate saying it, the packers always find quality depth that prevents a total season meltdown. Cobb goes down, some steps up, Raji goes down, someone steps up, etc. The bears haven't had that luxury for years
  8. alrighty i must have blacked out
  9. pretty sure they wore white on white for the @ falcons game in 2009
  10. Theo added over $250m in salary obligations over the offseason just an fyi exactly why reducing the obligations is necessary to add more Probably should look to trade Rizzo too if that's the case no because Rizzo's production is a great value for his salary. you cant say the same for Montero and Castro Rizzo 2016 $5 Mil 2017 $7 Mil 2018 $7 Mil 2019 $11 Mil Joey Votto 2016 $20 Mil 2017 $22 Mil 2018 - 2024 $25 Mil / yr http://i3.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/012/132/thatsthejoke.jpg
  11. good god, 7-8-9 is an absolute dumpster fire. wouldn't be surprised to see denorfia in there at some point during the game to switch out for either schwarber or herrea. side note: is coghlan not a complete butcher at 2B? i knew he came up as a MIF, but didn't know if maddon was just trying to get as much offense in the game last night via sacrificing defense or if coghlan at 2B is a possible thing.
  12. move schwarber to SS, good with coghlan in LF
  13. is the "bryant can't hit during the day because he's hungover" the new "cutler can't play at night because he has diabetes"
  14. Correct. Barrett had some words for Oswalt, who threw at Barrett the week prior after giving a homer to Aramis (?) early in a Cubs blowout. I strongly remember Stone saying that the Cubs were on the verge of giving the Astros the knockout blow during that proceeding 4 game series, where the Cubs won the first game and then got roundly kicked in the balls. sigh, that 2004 team
  15. It's going to depend on how far ahead the Cubs would theoretically be in the race for the second wild card as you can likely say the WC1 will be rested and that the Cardinals and Pirates would throw out Wacha and Cole, respectively. Here are the following starters since inception of the 1 gam wild card 2014 Edison Volquez vs. Bumgarner Lester vs. Shields 2013 Alex Cobb vs. Danny Salazar Liriano vs. Cueto 2012 Joe Saunders vs. Yu Darvish Lohse vs. Medlen
  16. guess what, supposed to rain throughout the night
  17. ominous weather expected throughout the rest of today, might be tough to get this one in. in the words of sontensei, think we'll have a triple header tomorrow?
