  1. Hmmm, they WANT us to sign B. Harper lol? Are you horsefeathering kidding me? Do they understand how gigantic a leap in production that would be going from J. Heyward-to-B. HARPER? How dangerous would our lineup be with B. Harper batting #3!?! That's hilarious. Do they also want us to sign M. Machado and J. Donaldson too LMAO? Of course they do, then the Cubs will have no money while only fielding five 5+ win position players to go along with several 2-4 win players. How can you win like that?
  2. I was at that game, it was 7 degrees at kickoff and 3 when the game ended. My beer would turn to slush if I didn't drink it within 5 minutes. We tailgated all day at 31st street lots and our keg literally froze mid-day. I had bundled up enough that i wasnt actually that cold except for my damn feet.
  3. Hah. But seriously there is value everytime Mitch lines up and reads defenses and dissects film of it afterwards right? Also the defense wasn't giving him a chance even when he did drop back. 13 drop backs, 7 passes, 4 sacks (PFF only credited 1 sack to him), 2 pressures that led to Mitch running it. I'm not sure how many dropbacks were in 1st vs second but with the game situation and a coach that errs conservative whenever possible this was the most likely way for us to preserve the lead and win
  4. I was waiting for someone to ask why I was posting it and that was gonna be my response
  5. Hey look it's the dude that takes legitimate info from a direct source, adds a safe logical next step and calls it insider info https://twitter.com/sean_sears6/status/922201602446036992
  6. or if we didn't have a concussed LB miss a call that led to the falcons TE coming wide open and scoring that TD. or the 15 attempts missed in the endzone at the end. Well in that case they'd be 4-3 but not in 1st. I'd take that too. Either way even at 3-4 the Bears will be no worse than 1.5 games behind a WC and 2 behind the division. Not great but even being on the fringe of the fringe of the playoff discussion through 7 weeks with this schedule is somewhat incredible. That said it all goes for naught if they lose in NO next week and go into the bye 3-5. If they can get a win in the house of horrors that is the Superdome then you can start to talk playoff positioning without looking like a complete homer.
  7. If the Bears would have won that Vikings game (and you'll remember they had the ball with a couple minutes left in a tie game before Mitch threw the backbreaking INT) the Bears would be tied with GB and MIN (and potentially DET depending on their game) for first place at 4-3
  8. Knock it off with the personal attacks when you come back. you seriously just banned him for that? dude who is almost never around but happens to have been designated a mod like 10 years ago is pretty quick with the ban stick. Agreed although sulley's response was strangely aggressive for an innocent comment. Is there some sort of OO/sulley history I am forgetting?
  9. Somehow Cutty's Dolphins are about to go to 4-2
  10. Yeah an ugly win but I'll freaking take it and there were a lot of positives. The Bears will never have a good offense this year but they can improve as Mitch gets more comfortable and they open up the playbook. That it's not exactly likely that the staff does this
  11. On offense yeah You gotta remember that Fox is in job saving mode so if he sniffs out a win he will go even more conservative than normal to maximize his chances. He doesn't care if more aggressive play calling is better for the team's long term development. He will run it and punt for an entire half if he thinks that's the best way to win
  12. Random thought I've had. I think for DOG penalties, the offensive team should be given the option of burning a TO instead of the penalty except in the last 2 minutes of a half.
  13. This is unacceptable
  14. lol we're not gonna have a 1st down this half
  15. Remember that Todd Collins 0 TD 4 INT game against Carolina where we won by 3 scores? This game is approaching that in its absurdity
  16. 6 passes attempted for Trubisky but part of that isnt super conservative play calling. He has to be pressured or hit on 60% of his dropbacks
  17. Panthers have 33 minutes TOP to the Bears 11
  18. Bears have to get some first downs otherwise the defense is going to start getting gashed often
  19. Or we could run the ball up the middle a few more times
  20. Bend but don't mother horsefeathering break
  21. That was a painful 3rd and long conversion. I refuse to believe there aren't any holds worth calling on these long offensive plays
  22. No way Fox goes for it and he probably shouldn't with 1:12 left and the ball to start the 3rd
  23. There are 3 minutes left in the quarter and the Bears offense has yet to take the field in the 2nd I would love to see the kickoff returned for a TD then the Panthers run out the half so the Bears could go into halftime with a 21-3 lead despite not possessing the ball for an entire quarter
  24. D has to be gassed. Look at that TOP
  25. How many Kalils are left?
