  1. Question about the end of the half play...if the Steelers player had fallen on the ball instead of batting it out of the end zone, would that have been a safety or a touchback?
  2. FWIW La Stella has reverse splits for his career, although his experience vs. LHP is limited to 107 PA (but .815 OPS in those 107 PA vs. .700 OPS in 631 PA against righties) and his BABIP is 75 points higher against lefties. I'm gussing the wide disparity in PAs is more because he's been primarily used as a PH or situational starter rather than him being awful against LHP.
  3. No and no
  4. They're not starting Mitch on a short week heading to Green Bay. Week 5 is the earliest we'll see him. As has been pointed out: GB defense kind of sucks so might actually benefit him to start vs GB instead of a better defense in Minnesota. Also, preparing for Trubisky on a short week with only preseason game film is just as difficult as preparing your QB for first start on a short week. But honestly how big of a deal is that anyways? If the Bears haven't been preparing him as if he were the starter every week, they are doing him and his development an injustice as well as the team an injustice because he is the backup QB and Glennon is a stiff whose injury is inevitable it seems.
  5. I didn't like him either but he's nowhere near my least favorite Bull. There were a lot of negatives but I was impressed at how he was able to come back from that fractured elbow quite a bit earlier than expected for the stretch run/playoffs. If the Bulls would have kept Jimmy I might have actually liked him because one of the more important things he did was cement Jimmy in the circle of NBA elite. He was headed that way after the Olympics but being bros with Wade doesn't hurt either.
  6. And Wade has indeed been bought out. Bulls save $8ish mil
  7. And yet if we lose tomorrow I guarantee that someone here will express concern about blowing it.
  8. My favorite part is right at the end. The defender has a halfway decent angle on him and had at least a small chance of getting him before the end zone. I would guess most backs would continue to run toward the pylon and try to outrun the defender but Cohen instead cuts back and gets past the surprised defender easily. That's all instinct.
  9. Yeah in some ways I feel bad but man that kind of thing just cannot happen. Oh well, we won despite it and I'm sure he learned his lesson.
  10. We will see where Maddon puts him in the rotation. If he's the 4th starter his potential impact will be limited due to only having 3 starts at most.
  11. two bad pitches, but yeah. Well if the 1st bad pitch wasn't made, there would have been no 2nd bad pitch (assuming he gets the 3 outs)
  12. Needed to win 1 and instead we were 1 bad pitch away from sweeping all 4. Amazing weekend Cubs
  13. So wait in this fairly important series we got a really clutch dominant relief outing from Wilson and an ace quality start from Quintana? The trades are working
  14. What kind of series would it be without a Rizzo TOOTBLAN?
  15. He is not allowed to hit any more HRs once he gets to 32 so this was the best available option.
  16. Man we are 2 innings from 2 and 2. Honestly not even sure the Cubs "need" to win any of the games in STL if they win today. If they got swept the Cubs would be 2 up over both teams with 3 to play.
  17. Bulls resigned Niko and Wade has been liking tweets about him joining the Thunder. I'm guessing these 2 things are related
  18. Did the Bears just drive down the field in OT and score a TD without the benefit of a single pass completion?
  19. This will be an all timer if we lose this one
  20. He looks in or potentially out by a pixel
  21. Well now if the Bears lose today it will officially be because of the boneheaded move before halftime
  22. you know this is where the Bears end their 12 coin toss winning streak
  23. 4 games going down to the wire at the same time with the trailing/tied team possessing the ball in 3 of them
