  1. supposedly happened trying to catch Fowler's GW HR on Sunday night
  2. We really horsefeathers up this weekend against them, but they really aren’t all that good. We pretty much shoulda won the series Easily. 2 late leads blown and in the 3rd game we lost by a 1 (albeit came into the 9th down 3). We didn't play particularly bad, just a couple of bad performances at inopportune times. Meh it happens.
  3. Relative to his salary, Happ gave roughly twice as much of his income as Lester and Yu did.
  4. Happ fine. I don't see the point in completely benching Heyward. Maddon's gimmicks aren't really things he brings out when the team is in a funk, they are more or less things that he plans out over the course of a season to keep the team loose during the long grind of 162 games. I don't see him frantically trying to get a ventriloquist to rush out to Wrigley to save the Cubs' season.
  5. Stephen Piscotti's mother died yesterday from ALS and they put up a fundraiser looking for 100k in donations for ALS research. https://www.youcaring.com/alstherapydevelopmentinstitute-1101042 Yu Darvish donated $10k
  6. Marlins are 8-3 in their last 11 games and have won 4 straight series against the Dodgers, Rockies, Phillies and Reds
  7. 4 of the last 6 Cubs playoff teams had a record of exactly 16-15 through 31 games. The other 2 teams had records of 25-6 (2016) and 18-13 (2008)

  9. Yep and he already has pitched 6 innings of 1 hit, 0 ER ball against the Cubs this year.
  10. Is it a rule that every Cubs acquisition from last offseason has to be a disappointment?
  11. That is horsefeathering bizarre. You can almost see the horsefeathers eating grin on his face as he’s typing what he thinks is a well crafted sick burn instead of just a bunch of perverted gibberish that makes no sense.
  12. Just perusing Twitter and damn Cardinals fans are hilariously defensive and easily triggered, it’s hilarious
  13. There was a time toward the end of last round when the NBA playoffs seemed somewhat exciting because for once it felt slightly unpredictable. LeBron’s Cavs looked more vaunerable than ever and the Sixers were the hottest team in basketball and a legit (imo) threat to come out of the east. The warriors looked weak enough that there was a chance a team like the Rockets could knock them off. Now 1.5 weeks later the Cavs have basically locked up the East and the Warriors will probably come out of the West. (Yes the Celtics could hypothetically beat the Cavs as they have superior coaching and their young talent seems to be taking a step up but come on the LeBrons are going to win. Also yes the Rockets can beat the Warriors but it just seems like another GS-CLE matchup is inevitable.)
  14. So the Cardinals pitching should immediately go to horsefeathers without the Hall of Fame caliber catching Molina is supposed to provide right?
  15. Supercubs are like Spider-Man at the end of Infinity War and Theo is Tony Stark. You mean the super cubs and theo are giving each other high fives becaus they vanquished their greatest enemy? That’s what happens right???
  16. what track record does chatwood have to make you think he’ll be okay? he’s never been able to throw strikes and now he’s worse than ever. as soon as his home run rate stops being fluky low he’s going to be completely unstartable. Sure I was mostly referring to Q and Darvish. Chatwood is a 5th starter so not too concerned
  17. Watching sane posters get crushed under the weight of negativity is interesting. Not criticizing you right now or singling you out. Just interesting I mean it's too early to say that's what's happening, but it easily could be. We invested a massive amount of resources in darvish/quintana/chatwood and they're completely broken walk machines. Yeah the stuff is fine or whatever, but I don't know how you can not be terrified by what they're doing, and by what ot means for the organization going forward if they dont turn it around in a big way. Sure but the track record is still there, both for the pitchers and the organization. I’m not saying you can’t be concerned and annoyed and frustrated. I just know how it is when things aren’t going well and you can only think of the most negative outcomes and conclusions. I fight that urge constantly.

  19. We will be fine it’s still May but we have a lot of horsefeathers to fix
  20. Definitely in one of those periods where if it’s not the hitting it’s the pitching and if it’s not the pitching it’s the defense etc. they are clearly better than this but super frustrating and a little worrying
  21. Hendricks Quintana Darvish Lester Chatwood I'm not worried about Yu or Q, I think it's just a slump for both. Lester looks pretty bad this year though, and Chatwood looks great for 80% of each start but for the other 20% he looks like late career Carlos Marmol. I'd be less concerned if he had "one bad inning" disease but it comes and goes seemingly at random. I just don’t see Lester looking awful. At least not any more than some of the other guys. At times he actually looks really good still. Other times he struggles with command and gets caught nibbling too much. But what starter isn’t doing that more often than you’d like right now besides Hendricks?
