  1. So we're now tied with the Colts and Broncos for 4th worst record in the league. I think the Bears have played the 3rd hardest schedule so far so they would lose tiebreakers to both and pick 6th. Any early thoughts on who we should draft in the first round? Side rant: I get the logic why the team with an easier SOS should win the tiebreaker, but given how impossible it is to balance schedules, I think it should be the other way around and you should not further penalize a team that was already forced to face a harder schedule by giving them a lower draft pick.
  2. The Cubs and Marlins will be the first scheduled game on Opening Day, at 11:30 AM ET, broadcast on ESPN: (Edit: Just read the fine print..ESPN broadcast will be blacked out in Chicago, so guessing Len and JD on the call)
  3. What Pace said when he cut Gould and signed Barth: Yeesh
  4. Tanker of the night: Justin Holiday
  5. Yeah, he definitely feels pressure that isn't there at times. Only was sacked once (only time they were really close) and it was his fault for that weird early scramble right into the line. Obviously, he had some sacks that were his fault last week. He had the unnecessary back foot throw incomplete to Wheaton on 3rd and 9. He didn't set for a couple other throws. But I think that will come in time. Actually, having WRs he has some confidence in will really help. I think he feels OK about the OL, but my guess is he feels like he has a small window to get the ball to his receivers before the defense recovers, causing some rushed passes. Beyond the mechanics of the dropback, I think he isn't processing D's fast enough to set his feet and make accurate throws. Agree with all of this. The game is just a little fast for him right now but it's encouraging that the things he needs to work on are pretty minor all things considered and are largely a product of experience. Like at least you can see all the makings are there to be a high quality QB. Just a lot of throws today that he wishes he could have back. For a rookie QB with just 13 college starts, I’m kind of amazed that he only has 2 interceptions in 6 starts.
  6. Lovie (autotranslates to livid) was good but left a lot to be desired and the bears were right to move on after nearly a decade, but did a horrible job replacing him. Lovie was so much better than some give him credit for, though. I think he was an acceptable coach but was one that came on board to a young crop of very good to elite defensive talent which happened to fit the scheme he brought in perfectly. He did a good job executing that system and bringing in (via Angelo) pieces to supplement the core and obviously his reputation as a players coach was well deserved.
  7. Just for fun, Trestman and Fox have combined to go 25-49 in 4.5 years. Lovie didn’t lose his 49th game until his 8th season (64-49). Not implying really anything, just pointing out how incredibly bad we’ve been.
  8. I think a reason for that is him learning how to take the snap under center and drop back and plant his feet before throwing. He’s used to shotgun 95% of the time and that’s a whole different rhythm to throwing. Once he gets more comfortable dropping back I think his accuracy goes up. You heard the announcers today point out several times which foot he was planting before throwing. That said I haven’t seen many perfectly placed throws (Though I might be remembering poorly) You’d hope to see more flashes of that.
  9. horsefeathers off with the up and down day from Mitch. Jesus Christ lol
  10. Another up and down game by Mitch (more up than down though) but I have to say his reads were a lot better today.
  11. Well we would have had more time if we used our TOs more optimally...
  12. I dunno that chip shot that Vikings kicker missed in that playoff game was pretty bad
  13. Cut Barth please Well at least we can say that botched snap return for a TD was the difference in the loss.
  14. Yeah Cohen shouldn’t be our returner anywhere. Terrible decision making and unable to find holes That decision cost the Bears 8 yards and 9 seconds on the clock
  15. Ok somehow the Bears used no timeouts, burned 20 seconds off the clock and the Lions lost 8 yards. Too bad their FG kicker is good. Mitch is 0-3 at game tying winning drives in the last 2 minutes. Time for attempt 4. Fox will likely sabotage it by playing for the FG if the Bears get anywhere near FG range.
  16. Wtf Fox. Lions now a 1st down from winning it assuming they make the FG. As usual terrible clock management from Captain Dipsh!t
  17. LeBlanc is having quite the game...
  18. I mean geez. Hundley on the road during a short week has a “breakout game” against the Bears. This week? 18-30, 203 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT, Packers getting shut out
  19. Goldman hurt now. It’s like the Bears made a list of their best defensive players and the injury gods were set on taking them all out one by one
  20. Well this will help us secure a top pick. Someone figure out why the Bears lead the league in injuries every year
  21. Our special teams suck. I rarely see them open any holes to run through and when they do our returners don’t make the right reads. We’ve had some pretty juicy potential returns today and seem to get nothing out of them.
  22. Ahh I see we are at the part of the game where our starters start dropping like flies
  23. Mitch has made some really poor throws today.
  24. It’s been like a week since the Bears have gotten any pressure at all on Stafford. I hope if the Bears lose they lose by 7 or less so we can win the trifecta for games being decided on things that shouldn’t happen (reffing blunder, coaching blunder, snapping blunder)
