  1. Keeping that ratio high today! Because Willy got the knee down and the runner never touched home plate. It's a 1 run game what do you have to lose? Ask John Fox what he has to lose challenging a potential TD in a 1 score game. I know football replay has nothing to do with baseball, I just wanted t bring that up because I still can’t believe that happened.
  2. Down 2 pen guys (CJE, Monty) plus starters rarely pitch into the 7th so there’s always seemingly 1 of the top 3 guys unavailable many games. Plus Bass has pitched well
  3. Why would Rizzo be used there against Liriano? Seems like an odd time to use him in the 6th inning against a lefty
  4. The kid in Phoenix. I'm sure I've heard his name, but until I read the article about the deal, I couldn't have told you where he went to school, where he went in the draft, etc. Devin Booker, SG. The kid is pretty talented. I got him for my fantasy team during his rookie season. Fantastic shooter. He’s scored more points in a single game than MJ ever did. Strange that Derwood has never heard of him
  5. Who?
  6. I like The Athletic and think it's worth it. I don't even bother reading the Chicago Tribune anymore. It's important to support journalism in some form and pay for good content. Obviously, it's way better to own a subscription to the Washington Post, but every bit helps. I have this weird thing where I always find articles on twitter that I’m dying to read but can’t pull the trigger on a subscription. But a couple of times I did free trials, I randomly couldn’t find very many articles I wanted to read.
  7. Like I said his 2 biggest things are completely irrational negative takes about the Cubs and self-righteously calling out irrationally negative fans on #cubstwitter
  8. Such an England thing to do to give up that goal. I just have this feeling that whoever wins this one is going to the final.
  9. [expletive] they are going to get out of this arent they
  10. The Tigers are 14-4 lifetime against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, 9-2 in interleague play and 5-2 in the World Series /Fred
  11. The Warriors will now have 1/3 of the 2016 gold medal winning US men basketball team. And that doesn’t include Curry who was left off the roster due to injury
  12. NBA is broken. I know ratings are sky high and maybe the NBA loves the buzz that a super team brings to a national audience but I feel like in local markets it can only hurt the other 26 or so teams that are just kind of there.
  13. Pretty sure its like hockey. You can stutter but can't come to a complete stop...but I believe that they just make you retake the penalty if they call it.
  14. He’s just one of the many active moderators that have completely abandoned the board. Seriously look at the list of mods. Many of them were at one time among the most active posters on the board.
  15. You hate this direction? Any decent player will be throwing themselves at the Lakers for pennies on the dollar to play for the Lakers especially if the get Leonard. I know LeBron is getting old but having LeBron locked in for 3 years is not bad. I really don’t see a direction the Lakers could have taken that gave them better odds of contending in the next 3 years. They are not at all good enough right now but they got the most important part If they could pull it off they could’ve ended up with any combination of the guys i mentioned for only money the next 2 offseason and still kept the young guys to have a really complete team with better longevity instead of shorting a window by trading most off to get Kwahi now. Even for LA there is no guarantees in FA especially in a world where FAs make significantly more money with their current teams. I think that if there’s a chance to get the best player in the NBA right now you do it. I get your overall point but I just can’t ageee with this being a bad direction. Maybe suboptimal direction.
  16. As a Laker fan I don’t think so for this year and I absolutely hate this direction. Lebron, Kwahi and whatever young guys they have left + vet mins is not enough to win the West and they’re screwing up building a long term team here. They are locked in to Lebron until he’s 37/38 now. Sign him this offseason fine, but don’t trade everyone for Kwahi. Wait until next year when Kwahi, Klay, AD, Durant and others are FA then you have all these interesting young dudes plus 2-3 other FA and a much more complete team. They are not at all good enough right now but they got the most important part
  17. Oh man I thought that was a base hit off the bat
  18. Why do you always have to get up from your stance Willson?
  19. Won’t complain because of how well we’ve done with RISP all week but damn
