  1. Wicks is up because Taillon is going on the IL. Poor recent form aside that’s a tough blow. Guessing Wicks is now Saturday’s game
  2. If you are lazy and just look at the stat line. Most young yo-yo pitchers go back down to AAA to work on stuff. Also he’s had a 0.84 WHIP since mid May
  3. 2016 Cubs though 87 games: 52-35 2025 Cubs through 87 games: 52-35 Of course that was literally the low point of the 2016 season after a 1-9 stretch but still that’s wild. 2025 Cubs will need to go 51-23-1 to match the 2016 team
  4. And that one run was scored without a single hit that inning.
  5. The Cubs swept but it wasn’t an above .500 team so it doesn’t count.
  6. Yet another unlucky batted ball for Shaw ffs. But I’ll take this one 😂
  7. Reluctantly Pressly is probably the best option here but I hate it
  8. I think if the Cubs knew they’d be facing LHP for 5 innings they might have done the lineup differently. I figured 3 innings from the starter and keep the other lefty for late inning situational stuff
  9. Are they bringing in a lefty to face Busch? Unless they made other roster moves they have 2 (and another starter) and one threw 3 innings last night
  10. Probably not fair but it’s gonna be tough. Obviously Ohtani is the starter. I can’t see them carrying more than 2 so it would be between Seiya, Schwarber, Devers and possibly Hunter Goodman if Colorado needs an All-Star Lets look at how they stack up: fWAR: Schwarber 2.3, Suzuki 2.0, Goodman 1.9, Devers 1.9 wRC+: Schwarber 150, Devers 138, Suzuki 137, Goodman 123 wOBA: Schwarber .391, Devers .372, Goodman .368, Suzuki .367 HR: Schwarber 26, Suzuki 23, Devers 17, Goodman 16 RBI: Suzuki 73, Devers 64, Schwarber 58, Goodman 50 OPS: Schwarber .912, Suzuki .869, Devers .861, Goodman .857 Theres more we can look at but you get the picture. No one would have any gripes if Seiya got an All Star nod but if they are only taking 1 extra DH Schwarber kind of stands out from the crowd with Seiya and Devers a step behind and Goodman as the designated Rockies option
  11. My first thought was gambling but maybe it was because I didn't want to think about something more disturbing.
  12. They are calling up Joey Cantillo who is, surprise, a LHP. He seems like a 2-3 inning reliever so I'm not sure if he'll go super long. I'd keep Busch in there, especially because one of their 2 LHP in the pen threw 3 innings last night and the other 0.2 IP. Also Busch had a solid line drive hit against a LHP last night.
  13. Just for fun, the Cubs need to go 39-37 the rest of the season to win 90 games.
  14. Is it normal for the on deck hitter to be that close to the plate? can’t remember ever seeing them from the home plate camera
  15. How the hell was he 6-12 with the bases loaded this year before that?
  16. not sure I love facing the lefty here with Pomeranz warm
