  1. *sees Bryant leading off* Yeah no Edit: ok blind squirrel
  2. How come the Pirates are able to tack on insurance runs every inning while the Cubs can’t score any runs at all?
  3. I forgot about that 1 solo HR thing. If the Cubs aren’t going to win I kind of want them to finish with just the 1 run
  4. Guys rmack has seen enough
  5. He just needs an offseason of resting the shoulder and a baseball team that doesn’t employ Chili Davis
  6. Imagine having an MVP Kris Bryant in this lineup. Heck imagine having one guy that you look forward to seeing come to the plate. I think Rizzo is in another prolonged slump too. .499 OPS over his last 16 games. Normally not a huge concern but he can go on slumps that last like 6-8 weeks
  7. Oh man 2 more runs might be too hard to come by with the offense looking like it is. I can’t wait until it’s a playoff game and we can’t hit for crap and it feels hopeless
  8. So Bryant cant throw either. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was just shut down soon
  9. I saw another stat on reddit where from under center he has 5 TD and 0 INT in his career and from shotgun he has 4 TD and 10 INT. His YPA is higher under center too
  10. I swear to god every time I’m following the game on my phone and I see that the cubs are about to come up to bat, when I check again 2 mins later the inning is over
  11. Cole is now approximately the 3rd best hitter on the team
  12. I don’t see Cole on the mound I just see a giant pumpkin
  13. KB bumped down to 6th. Should we be happy he isn't out again, or depressed because its becoming clear that the Cubs don't expect him to be anywhere near MVP Bryant this year?
  14. and just one of them clinches playing beyond Sunday. I wonder if the Cubs are going to celebrate if they clinch at least a WC berth? My guess is they won't, but then again this team loves to celebrate. I'm pretty sure the Cubs clinched a playoff spot a few days before they clinched the division in 2016 and didn't celebrate, but at that point the division was a formality and worth waiting for. We are getting close to formality this year but definitely less certain.
  15. Some might say he loves missing TD's. :flythew:
  16. Also, I look forward to the posts going from "when we clinch how should we handle the Cardinals series" to "we are really going to blow this/what a disappointing season" if the Cubs lose and Brewers win tonight.
  17. Interesting that your avatar has a Packers helmet. A lot of people, myself included, were not happy with Lovie Smith’s decision to roll over for the Packers the last game of the 2010 season. The Bears were already Central Division champs. The Packers were on the outside looking in and needing a little help. The Packers won and got the help they needed. I’ll end the story there. ETA: If there’s a chance, kick the cards out. Seriously though, did the Bears really roll over for the Packers in that game? IIRC, Cutler and most if not all of the starters played the entire game, and the Bears were like 30-40 yards short of tying the game when it ended. They might have dumbed down the play calling a bit, but I would expect that against a potential playoff opponent on the last game of the season with no seeding implications for the Bears.
  18. Also this pass drives me irrationally nuts
  19. Mitch was supposedly praised for his accuracy coming out of college. His accuracy has been absolutely terrible so far this year. I wonder if there is a bit of a correction there as he gets more comfortable and stops playing scared. Of course this doesnt fix the terrible reads he's been making but would at least make him serviceable as a QB instead of bottom rung like he has played so far this year.
  20. I guess my question is, who starts at QB for Tampa? Winston’s suspension will be over right? But if Fitzpatrick has another monster game tonight there could be a question
  21. The Bears and the Cubs being good in the same year is so incredibly rare. I think the last time they both made the playoffs in the same year was 1984. 89 was the only year over an 8 year span the Bears failed to make the playoffs, then the Bears were mostly bad until 2005 and 2006 which is during the 3 year gap between the 03 Cubs and the 07-08 division champs. Edit: Just looked it up. The ONLY 2 calendar years where the Cubs and Bears both made the playoffs in the same year are 1984 and 1932. Were talking 2 of the very oldest franchises in their respective sports. Crazy
