  1. Alternate title was going to be: Neris Part 2: Astros Boogaloo
  2. Boog: And it looks like Craig is coming out to get Rea after allowing the first 3 men to reach. Thank you for your time Jed! Top 4, 8-3 Reds, we’ll be back.
  3. Man to think I told all the people I thought were freaking out about not making a move earlier today to chill out and that this version of Jed was not going to ignore a gaping hole on the roster.
  4. So what we learned and/or my thoughts (my assumptions could be wrong): -We’re not feeling great about keeping Tucker beyond this year -Jed is unwilling to overpay to make moves to shore up a gaping hole on an otherwise strong even in a year when one of their best players is set to walk after the years -The Cubs really believe in their pitching infrastructure to fix the guys they do have, and expect Taillon and Assad to be a big boost to rotation -Comfortable with a Shota, Boyd, Horton, Taillon playoff rotation -Beyond horsefeathered if either Shota and Boyd go down -Be wary about hoping our GM is aggressive in going for it in the future -Castro was a really helpful move for the offense
  5. Triantos scratched and no news on Ryan are all we have left lol
  6. James Triantos was a late scratch I think....Castro return or something else?
  7. Feel like they would have worked something out when they got Castro if the Cubs were in it but maybe not:
  8. "All-Star" that played 158 games and had a 1.6 bWAR lol Not dogging on the move, just funny that he made the ASG
  9. Starting pitching statistics since June 1:
  10. Jed has 3 deals done but he's asked the other teams to hold off announcing because he's having too much fun watching Cubs fans implode in anger.
  11. Trying to decide which would be better... no news at all about the Cubs, or rumors that say things like 'the Cubs have had discussions with a number of teams on controllable starting pitchers, but the cost has been above what the Cubs are willing to pay at this point.'
  12. Damn sounds like Cease to Houston has traction. Wild
  13. I'm guessing Parades out for the rest of the season probably factored into it even though its obviously a longer term commitment.
  14. Ive gotta take a break from social media and nsbb for a couple hours. especially on social media its just people getting more and more frustrated that Jed hasnt made a move yet.
  15. But other than that he's basically Pudge Rodriguez
  16. Offense had a good day: Oh no the defense is trash!!
  17. It doesn't track with everything we've been hearing. The Cubs are 28th in fWAR from SP since June 1st. He knows we need SP and while he won't completely destroy the farm system, a cost controlled TOR pitcher is well worth the prospect capital even if he pays more than he wants. It's a sellers market and the price is high...he's not going to cave until he sees whether the sellers go down on price. I won't panic, but I'll probably start getting antsy if nothing is done by like 4:30, even knowing that a lot of trades usually come down to the last minutes.
