  1. I'd say the Brewers are going way too far with this bullpenning trend but...well they are 2 games away from reaching the World Series.
  2. buttering us up before taking us to the slaugherhouse
  3. No, he heard the Cubs only pick up bad character guys so he's maneuvering his way to the north side
  4. Well if he can't connect with "Millennials" then he has no business being a coach anymore then. Agreed. I just think it’s interesting that he made excuses about players not listening to him and stuff instead of just sticking with “it didn’t work out”. Means either the dude doesn’t like to take accountability or the players really did not listen to him. Or both
  5. Fairly interesting article. Says he was not able to connect at all with several players, talked about refining his message to get through to “millennials” etc. was a big fan of Zobrist though but declined to comment on everyone else. https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/chili-davis-not-going-to-blame-myself-wishes-next-cubs-hitting-coach-better-fortunes-anthony-iapoce/?utm_campaign=ChicagoSunTimes&utm_medium=social&utm_source=sprout&utm_content=1539653813
  6. Was it that play where the lineman held Mack for like 5 seconds and then threw him to the ground right as Osweiler found someone for a long gain.
  7. Obviously Mack was pretty freaking hobbled. Might be one of those injuries where he is able to play through it that day but can't play next week.
  8. Makes sense. He was a hitting instructor in the minors when Bryant, Schwarber, Javy, Russell and others were developing. Obviously he is aligned with the organization's philosophies and fits the "Cubs Way"
  9. So Saad is now getting healthy scratches. What a freaking awesome trade to get him back.
  10. Someone on the Pats forum described us offensively as the knock off Chiefs and geez that may be apt Kelse is one of the top TEs in the league and the way Burton was supposed to be used was similar but in reality hasn't really been involved as much as I expected Hill has 2 potential comparisons, either Gabriel or Cohen, but Hill is a better all around receiver and more dynamic playmaker (at least for now) Sammy Watkins compares as the more traditional WR1 with Allen Robinson but seems to do it better Maholmes is the young gun slinging QB but ahead in his development over Trubisky And of course Nagy is an Andy Reid disciple. The running games are different though, the Bears have the 2 headed monster where Hunt is an every down back (I think)
  11. I’m gonna predict something like 34-23 Patriots
  12. 1-7 with an average margin of defeat of 15 points. Oh well I'll take the SB win
  13. Brady has tormented the Bears throughout his career even though they only play ever 4 years. 2002: Bears blow a 27-6 lead in Champaign and lose 33-30 after Brady throws 2 TDs in the final 3 minutes 2006: Super Bowl bound Bears lose something like 17-13 at NE. Very close back and forth game throughout until Brady juked Urlacher out of his shoes when rushing for a despiration 1st on a 4th down. Pats ended up scoring to take the lead, and Sexy Rexy said 'F it I'm throwing downfield' and Samuel caught his third INT of the game 2010: The same year as the Bears last playoff appearance during a blinding snowstorm, the Pats score the first 36 points of the game and win 36-7. Brady threw for 369 yards and 2 TDs in the snow. 2014: Patriots score 45 of the first 52 points of the game and blow out the Trestman Bears. Brady has a 148.4 QB rating and throws for 352 yards and 5 TDs. Notable for Lamar Houston registering his first sack of the year late in the 4th against Jimmy G, and tears his ACL while celebrating.
  14. It kind of felt like the second half of that Packers game ba lot of short drops and quick releases. Mack was invisible possibly because of injury. Plus they were able to get yards on the ground which opens everything up when the bears can’t get pressure
  15. Huh? He had a couple of bad throws/decisions but ended with a 122 passer rating. Hes hardly the reason the Bears lost. I don’t think he was bad but Nagy still didn’t trust him to make plays with the game on the line
  16. And geez that horsefeathering deflected pass on 3rd and 11 on that first drive of OT.
  17. Who the hell settles for a 53 yarder? Wasn’t it going to be a 55 or 56 yarder before 3rd down? Howard was running well that drive and if they don’t complete the pass they are really outside Parkey’s range. My guess is that Nagy thought he could get 5-10 yards running and that was less risky than a throw. Nah the 3rd down play was no gain. I don’t necessarily have a problem with running but the run was a very conservative run right up the gut designed to likely pick up 1-2 extra yards which to me is a play you run if you feel you are already in highly probable FG range. Defense looked like it had 8 in the box and had no problems stuffing it. Wish they could have had at least feigned something other than a run between the tackles. The Bears were in FG range but you should never feel comfortable settling for a kick outside of 50 yards. It’s the same horsefeathers trestman pulled against the Vikings and of course it burned us both times. A 50+ yard FG in that situation is something that you only consider once it’s 4th down. Before that you should be trying to get 1st downs until you are in comfortable FG range
  18. Awful game to have right before playing the Pats. Belichick is going to get a boner watching tape this week
  19. That playcalling before the missed FG was very very Trestmanesque
  20. It was a team wide failure. Critical turnovers inside the 5 and while driving for the game winning score, defense allows 541 yards to a shitty backup QB. No pass rush. Kicker has a critical miss. Playcalling was aggressive at the wrong times and conservative at the wrong times. They lost this game as a team
  21. So the 2 bears losses: -Blew a 20-3 second half lead to the Packers -3 yards away from a 15 point 4th quarter lead. Both losses on the road plus the Bears barely beat Arizona on the road. Still a young team that struggles on the road
  22. What a horrible horsefeathering choke loss. I really don’t see the Bears making the playoffs at this point with the Patriots, Rams, Packers and 2 Against the Vikings on the schedule
  23. No sports team I root for has had more inexplicable painful losses than the Bears
  24. Rooting for the tie now
  25. Umm bend but don’t break?
