  1. I wonder if someone is going on the IL? Javy maybe? Maybe, but if not I would just assume Jim Adduci is going back down. Left handed outfielder replacing a left handed outfielder.
  2. That was quick: [tweet] [/tweet]
  3. Yeah I’m sure those 300 PAs last year are more indicative of his ability than the other 1200 PAs where he was a very good hitter.
  4. 6-12 in our last 18 , 2-8 in our last 10
  5. Lol another run not scored by a hit with RISP
  6. 5 runs this series. We might lose 2 games where we allowed 1 run through 9 innings
  7. A few things...if the Cubs don’t improve the pen that 50% chance of making the playoffs turns into a 20% chance IMO. But if you don’t make the playoffs you will likely have him for 2 more years. And Zo was gonna be a FA anyways so Kimbrel just eats up his contract. The Cubs have $40 mil coming off the books besides Zobrist...of course with that you have to pay for arb raises and replace Hamels, Strop, Cishek and Kintzler. Hopefully Happ contributes this year and can have a Zobrist role in ‘20. And the other thing is...if the Cubs don’t make the playoffs this year I’m not sure the offseason will be about spending money to improve anyways. We will likely see multiple trades of MLB guys
  8. Willson begging to make an out on the basepaths and finally gets his wish
  9. This after he had historically bad numbers with RISP last year Dude is just not good, period. It's ridiculous how badly the entire OF was botched. And pitching staff. But at least they got the infield right. Well except for the guy that abuses women
  10. From Bleachernation: This after he had historically bad numbers with RISP last year
  11. Great stuff. The only thing that concerns me about Rizzo is that he notoriously can get into megaslumps. What will the Cubs offense look like if/when that happens this year? Maybe it won’t
  12. Congrats to the Cubs in their second 2-7 stretch this season
  13. Lefty killer faces 2 lefties and the righty actually hit him well but was unfortunate. In isolation not outrageous but given the Cubs struggles of late, it adds to the frustration
  14. Obviously not a real concern on June 1 but I really didn’t want to cede 1st place to the Brewers again this year for even a day. Hopefully the offense can get their horsefeathers together tonight/this morning
  15. Bryant is 11 for his last 30 with 5 XBH coming into today but yeah the other 2 have gone very cold
  16. It was the Bote IF hit. Last time they got a legit RBI hit was Bote’s GW double against the Reds last Saturday. 16 of last 18 runs have been on HR
  17. 16 of the last 18 Cubs runs (starting last Sunday) have been via HR. The other 2 runs were scored by an IF single and a Darvish sac fly
  18. BBQ? http://www.freakingnews.com/pictures/52500/Cardinal-Barbecue--52843.jpg
  19. Like every single other baseball team in history, the offense is going to slump. That said this is a pretty bad one. 3 for 33 with RISP in the last 5 games. Great that we hit a bunch of routine fly balls that went out of the park in Houston but back in reality we need to hit
  20. I hope all goes well but I refuse to watch potential walkoff situations at Busch Stadium. Good luck guys!
  21. Since I’m quick to criticize Yu, it’s only fair to praise him when he does well. Solid outing today and could have easily gone a 7th inning if Almora didn’t triple
  22. I recognize all these late 80s/early 90's names because I was a nerd that owned thousands of baseball calls and studied them all constantly. Damon Berryhill, Steve Buechelle, Scott Sanderson, Mike Bielecki, Luis Salazar, Rey Sanchez, Doug Dascenzo, Les Lancaster, Paul Assenmacher, etc. I couldn't tell you a thing about many of them but the mention of their names brings me right back to being a 10 year old.
  23. Steve Trachsel is by far the pitching name I remember most (pre Kerry Wood) from my childhood, and the best year of his career, fWAR wise, he put up a 5.66 ERA. I remember Trachsel most for taking forever between pitches. It became a running joke and broadcasts sometimes clocked him. Hilarious stuff I remember him most for having a very Chatwoodian 6.1 IP, 1 H, 6 BB performance in the Wild Card tiebreaker game in 98
